Optics Planet.net is having a sale on Wiley X sunglasses/goggles. I've been thinking of a pair of these for awhile. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a pair of prescription Top Jimmie glasses with standard grey lenses (decided against the light adjusting lenses). Total cost was $154 and that includes free shipping. Would you believe a local optical store quoted me $417 for these same glasses (but it did include the anti-scratch, anti-glare, etc., etc.)!! I wonder how many suckers they get to buy those... you can order prescription glasses directly from Wiley X for a lot cheaper than that!

Have anybody ordered prescription SG-1s? If so - what did you order for the sunglasses inserts? Did you get UV protection?

I bought a similar model, and went with the prescription transition brown. I'm partial to brown lenses for their performance in both bright sun and overcast conditions, plus they make all the purty girls look more tanned. I may have gotten the scratch coat too. Don't remember now. They are the first transition lenses I've owned that range from very dark to fully clear. I figured for shelling out the dough, they better work night & day.

Hah! I got mine issued (for free) by the U.S. Marines! Seriously, good to hear others are wearing these for riding,I thought I was the only nerd wearing my military goggles for riding! They work great though.

I got mine yesterday and will give them a try (along with my new 1/2 helmet) on my commute to work today. What's weird is Optics Planet didn't send me a notification that they shipped - their website still says "Will ship in 2-3 weeks." It was actually less than 2 weeks to show up at my door.

Dang, I thought this was going to be about the fabled "X ray glasses". Was thinking about ordering a pair.

My uber pricey H-D goggles failed in so many ways (suprise)-felt separated from the foam, plastic loop failed, so I've ordered Wiley-X SG-1 V cuts from an outfit in Australia AU$139.00. Now I just have to wait to get back to the world for a long test.

Just an FYI i got these glasses from ebay. Theyre photochromatic shatterproof and all that good stuff. they even come with a strap so you can detach the ear pieces and turn them into goggles, and they come with a case and a little cloth to clean the lense...cant beat the price either...$33 with shipping..haha http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BOBSTER-S...sspagenameZWDVWof course theyre not prescription, but i figured i'd pass on my thriftiness to anyone needing a pair for non prescription. and dont let the picture fool you, they look really good and work great, they just look wierd in the picture, you can see a better pic on their actually site.
