I'm picking up my bike in a few weeks and it will remain outside (in apt. parking lot) until it becomes cooler outside. At that point I will be keeping it in a friends garage. Can anybody recommend a good cover that would keep out water buy allow the bike to breathe?
Also - I live in NE PA (which starts to get cold in Nov) - when do you guys normally move your bike into a garage?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Dowco EZ Zip. I think that was the name of mine. It fits over windshields, saddlebags, sissy bar. It is made of top quality materials, including heat shields for the pipes and muffler, and has an aft zipper to make it easy to install on the bike or to access saddlebags, etc. I am not using it anymore, as I have a garage now. It was used in a sheltered alcove, but not a completely enclosed area.
If you are interested in buying it, send me a PM. It is in like new condition, with a case also.

A key for using a cover is placing your bike on a carpet or pad to prevent moisture from teh ground and cement from rising up and codensing on your bike surfaces.
I couldn't figure out why my bike was wetter under the cover than stuff without, placed a carpet under it and realized the cement was the culprit.

That is interesting. I will have to remember that. I wonder if in a garage, without a cover, would make any sense to put the bike on an old carpet anyways?

I always lift my bike up on the stand even though there is a carpet underneath. also cover the bike with the triumph dust cover.

I park in the (un-heated) garage every night. No problems with condensation. first thing I do before storing it is change the oil and idle it for a few minutes, lube the chain, put it up on the jack, wheel it close to the wall and plug in the battery minder. I usually end up tinkering on it over the winter so the gas gets drained and burnt in my pick-up. I just top it up with fresh fuel when riding season is near.

I don't have a sissy bar or windshield and use a cover I bought from Walmart. It was $34.95 CDN and has vents at the top to release moisture. It works great!

I would like to get one of those Cycleshells (hopefully I'll be able to before this winter). Living in an apartment with no covered parking stinks.

I used to use a bin bag from a paper compacting machine. It was like an ordinary bin-bag...only much bigger!! Any local companies use a compactor? Just ask one of the workers for one.
