Please excuse me for posting about my children. But i wanted to share both my pride and sadness today.

Pride, for today was the first day of Kindergarden for my twins. Took them to class this morning half expecting some nervousness and tears, but what i got was two children who hit the ground running. As soon as they arrived they were gone. Off to meet and make new friends and begin the long road of learning.

Sadness, or maybe selfishness, i dont know. But they are growing up to fast for me. There i was expecting to be a pillar for them to lean on this morning but instead they didnt need me. All i got was a 'see ya at hometime daddy'.

Today im a proud pappa with a tear in my eye. Think i might take the bike for a ride at lunch time for some me time.

It's hard when the chicks leave the nest, but rest assured; they still need you. Just sit back and smile with pride at their accomplishments knowing that you have a hand in their developement.
Congrats on their first day!

Remember; no matter where you go, there you are.

Don't worry Mark!

From what I hear you still have about 6 or 7 more good years left where you'll still be viewed by them as a "hero" or at least a pretty good guy anyway.

After THAT, get ready to be viewed as the biggest jerk in the world who doesn't have a clue about how the world "really works".(that is of course until they move out on their own, and then suddenly you're A-Okay again)

"When I was 16, I thought my father was the stupidest man on the earth. But when I was 21, I was amazed at how much HE had learned in just 5 short years"[Mark Twain]

Yea Brents a great kid. Too bad he's Big Poppy's kid.
Brad's a great kid also.
I figured he would still be riding the new puppy high.
Time for him to split some more wood. Winter's coming.
If you need a I have some rock maple and a 25lb sledge that ought to calm him right down.

The Cathy part is easy to remember My wife is Cathy, Rob's wife is Cathy and Literzski's girlfriend seems to be a Cathy. (but don't tell anyone, he's kinda of shy.)

Dang it! You beat me to it! I really need to get that "no kid talk" addendum published in the AUP.

You need to print this out and keep it. Then, when they are 40 and want to move back home, you can read it and maybe let 'em in the door.

Mark, I still carry the picture of my 2 boys when my youngest was getting onto the schoolbus for the VERY FIRST time to go to Kindergarten, and that was 4 years ago! Still remember it like yesterday, both dressed up snappy, their backpacks on as proud as troopers going into battle. Shame sometimes that they have to grow up, but they still look up to me (for now) when they're not giving me a ration of #$@%!!! I know exactly how you feel today!

Well they had a big first day. Talking 90 words a minute when i picked them up. I only hope they can be this happy for the rest of their school life.

If they turn out anything like me then school will be a blast from start to finish. However, i dont want them to turn out exactly like me, school was indeed a blast for me, but then i must also confess that the lessons were in actual fact an interuption of a soccer match. Which for me as a kid started when the sun came up and ended when the sun went down. Or when my mum called me in. Which ever came first.

Precious moments indeed. Happy weekend all.
