sometimes on exceleration i can hear a kind of tinny rattle sound, seems to be comming from around the engine somewere. anyone have any ideas on this.

Make sure the wire loops over the headlight bucket that hold the cables are far enough above the bucket not to vibrate off of it. Drove me nuts until I figured out what it was. All it took was pulling them up just a bit. OF course, that would be assuming it were something as simple as that.

You running the freak Herb? The carbs can rattle on the brackets...

I hope its not yout engine asking for higher octane fuel.
I don't know what these things sound like if they're suffering from pre-ignition, but I've heard some cars make a tinny rattle when the octane is too low.

No not running the freak, standard with staintune exhaust and re jet.
someone said could be something to do with the spark from the plug ?
was that any help

Have you checked all your fasteners (bolts and nuts)?

what gear are you in and at what speed are you at when this noise happens????

All gears at high revs, no noise at moderate speeds, but there when you give it some hard throttle. but not hard enough to hit the rev limiter.

I get the same sound. I noticed it last week, sounds like it comes from the left side for me. Again it's only when I aggressively throttle up which I rarely do.

Very strange sound.
let me know if you get to the bottom of it.
ill do the same, but im not due for a trip to the dealer for a couple of months. could be just one of those many,many strange triumph engine sounds. lets hope so.

That has been my hope too. If I get to the bottom of this I'll let you know.
