To our Australian friends: I saw something about the research effort to clone a Tasmanian Tiger. Is this effort getting anywhere? In North America, we probably would be trying the same thing, had we exterminated the Bison. Call me crazy.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

There's been a lot of talk - it's supposed to be technically possible since we have several specimens to clone from in places like the Hobart museum, but it runs into problems because you need a population of at least 300 genetically different specimens to make a viable species. There's also moral/ethical debates, the fact that it opens the door to cloning etc. Don't hold your breath waiting for your very own pet tasmanian tiger.

You don't need to clone them. There are supposedly still wild ones in the boonies of Tassy. I believe them, I saw Elvis walking his pet Thylacine the other day. Just before he was picked up in his limo that was driven by bigfoot.

Yep! I think you've mentioned this before, Feral. Didn't you also say Elvis told you he was on his way to that cryogenics lab to help thaw out Walt Disney?
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Yeh that's right. He asked to borrow a box of matches to light the fire. I knew it was him because he said 'thank you very much' in funny Elvis americanese.

So way out there - I thought I was seeing things. I have a thylacine t-stirt...it is the only t-stirt I bought in Oz. Other than a plain black one....as I forgot to pack a plain black one. The Australian Museum don't seem to sell my t-stirt anymore...but cuddly ones...

That's because Elvis, is serving in the chippy down the road from us, keeps snarling at my mrs for some reason and saying "that's alright mama".

Whats this world coming to, where people openly make fun of "The King". I'll have you all know Elvis is alive and well. I play cards with Him,Jimmy Hoffa and Emilia Erhart every Tuesday night. Well at least I have been since my head injury.
Is that the phone riging? Sombody answer the darn phone will ya? jeeze.
