Sweet. But there's no reason you still can't do that to your bike, and maybe change it up a little.

It looks great! For some reason that bike looks familiar, maybe it's just the striping that does.

Yeah. "Oil tank" looks familiar.
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.

I do like the "oil tank", the early style dual petcock Bonnie tank and the "old school" pinstriping. The simplified front forks make the front end look very sleek. Still, I'd like the engine to either be more black or more chrome, the gray stands out too much by itself.

I want one. I'm planning on rebuilding my battery box but there's no way to make it look decent without just covering it up. That tank is da bomb.

Very nice! Very nice, indeed! I too like this Bobber!(t'ant't really a "chopper", per se)
I like the way the old Bonnie tank looks on this bike, though in my opinion the post-1970 oil-in-frame tanks with their fixing bolt running up through the middle of them are not quite as "clean" as the earlier tanks are, but I can see why it was used, as the earlier 3-point attachment placements would have neccessitated welding cross brackets to the frame up front.
The "Von Dutch" pinstripping is a nice touch too.
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I think the 70s oif tank was used for the wider tunnel.

Good point, Ian. Didn't think of that, but it makes sense, considering that the engine oil was carried within the top frame tube in the '70s. And, seeing as how the BA/Speedy top frame tube is wider than even the Hinckley standard Bonnies are, I guess the '70's Bonnie tank would only fit.

The oil tank on this bike is for asthetics only right?
FJ...have you seen the battery relo kit from boogie? Its pricey but looks like if you got the ability you can build it.
I like the look of this bike!

If you removed the air box you could take an oil tank and cut it open on top and to the rear. (so water can't collect in it) and use it as a battery box and mounting points for the electrics inside. It would hide everything and look cool, I suggested this top Tom awhile ago.

The oil tank isn't an oil tank. It's a battery box. The space where oil would go for a Harley is likely used for the wiring harness and fuse box.
Boogie's box basically what I have right now. My buddy and I designed and built it in '02. I always planned on making side covers for it. I like the ones Mark Case made for Bruiser, but I don't like Boogie's side covers.

Wow, that thing looks really cool and what I would define that over-used word: "Bobber".
What state is that in? I'd like to see a better shot of that fake oil tank and the other side.

I dig it, but not the seat, and it probably runs and sounds like c-r-a-p with the open headers, but it looks good.
Gimme a different seat and some real pipes and I'm sold! Oh, and I'll take all black no stripies please!

Agreed, a speedy engine would probably have suited better.

The bike is located at PJ's Triumph here in Albuquerque, NM.
As for the sound, it's not that bad, I ended up behind it one day. Sounds sorta like the D&D pipes, except a little more obnoxious. I'll try and get some better pictures of the other side, and if I can, a full list of what was done to the bike from the guys at the dealership.
Thanks to the person that pasted the link to Boogie's, lots of stuff on there I'm gonna order!

Yeah I was thinking about doing that, but I seen it done a couple times and I kinda thought I'd leave it open straight through and maybe dress up the bottom of the swing arm and whatnot. Sorta gives it that bare bones look.

Cool bike, but not sure I could put my seat on that seat. Must say I prefer the Rocket III behind it, been thinking of chopping the TBA in for one thats a demonstrator at the local dealer. Look forward to seeing pictures of yours when you do it.
