What do you mean, "deep?" You could probably go with either 5 or 6". Both should keep the rooster tail off your back. I think 6" would look better.

I geuss I mean is his fender deep as in how far down does the side lip go if its deep then I have to raise the fender high and i dont wanna do that...so i want it shallow. I got a pretty cool idea of what Im gonna do...cant wait to show u all.

Have you located a trailer fender? Like these? http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=0692790F-E845-457A-ACB0-C11DB6378618Shouldn't matter how deep the "sidewall" of the fender is. You'll probably want to wrap a couple chunks of 1/2" fuel hose around the tire ("longitudinally") to get a good spacing between fender and tire. When I extended my front fender bracket to clear the 120 tire I used 3/8" tubing for clearance which wasn't enough. It rubbed on the bracket when I hit the brakes hard and I had to hog out the holes for a little more clearance. When I put the bike up for the winter I'm going to weld in the holes and redrill them.

That's a very good question. My only theory is some funky form of tire deflection. Before I extended the bracket it rubbed all the time.
