Stopped by there today to look at the 07 models, haven't really checked them out yet. The guy (won't call him a salesman just a guy ) comes over asks if I want to ride anything. I look down and he has numerous keys in his hand. Ya just gotta love that. No sales pressure at all, just hey ride what you like. Wanna go for a long cruise, Ill go with you. Holy **** all dealers should be like that. I tell him that I already have an SM and a tiger is probably in my future, already rode one and loved it. I'm looking at the R3 and he asks if I want to ride it. I say well I really have no interest in buying one and he says well ride it anyway. Then he tells me they have a open house in a couple of weeks and I said "well it seems like everyday is an open house here"! If I buy a tiger he will get the sale.

It's great to hear of positive experiences from that dealer, or any dealer for that matter....

Alot of people were unhappy with them over a 50% off accessory sale they had and took a little too long shipping product, but I think most issues were resolved. I think they were overwhelmed.

From what I hear from my local Triumph shop, the dealers are "Highly Suggested" to put a certain amount of miles on their demos per month. I believe TRiumph America thinks that if noone is demoing the bikes, they won't get sold. That's just one more thing that sets Triumph above the other makers/dealers. They actually want potential customers to jump on the bike and put it through it's paces. My local Yamaha and Honda dealers just want you to spend your money without having put as much as a mile on the bike you are looking at. Foolish.

Huh, didn't know there was a problem with them. Don't usually go to dealers much and I don't actually get on the forums often but after my injuries and no riding or working I have been around a lot. Was at other dealers recently trying to get demo's and most say no. The Duc dealer would not let me ride a thing. I asked when they had a demo day and they said they don't. Personally I would not buy a bike without riding it. The only other dealer I found so willing to give demo's was Buell.

I have an awesome dealer, but they don't do demo rides (that I know of). Sounds like a very awesome dealer!

Is Ramp still in Saint James? I was in there a couple of times in the past and they were pretty friendly.

If you're looking for demo rides - Victory.

It's on the 25th. You can ride the r3 anytime no appointment needed. They have every model for demo and you can just sit there and go through them all.
They are gonna do dyno runs and some give aways for the open house.

Figures I won't be around I missed the dyno runs last time too. I just got an email from triumph that said the national open house stuff is from the 21st to the 25th. Maybe I'll swing by on Wed or something and take a peek!

Hey are you riding much? Still need that brake lever? We should hit a tuesday night bike night sometime.

I got my bike from Ramp. Good folks. I went to a couple dealers in CT and no luck getting the guy to even turn over the engine. Saw my bike on line, called them up to see if it was still available. I told him I was coming over, by the time I got there the bike was almost ready for a test drive. Needed more fuel so we gassed up and went for a 30 minute ride...
There was a little screw up getting the check to them. They have 10 different names for the dealership. But all in all I was quite pleased with my experiences there.
I wish I was free that weekend to show up and check the deals

Haven't been riding daily like normal. Between the back/shoulder injury and needing to do some bike work my riding has been limited.
Yeah still need the brake lever. Where did you get your adjustable?
I'm in for a bike night as soon as I get a few things sorted.

He's a smart man, knows very well that once you actually ride on a Triumph, the seat may as well be made of superglue and velcro as hard as it is to get back off it.

When I was there they had no street triples! But the speed triple is a blast.

The dealers should have a more open policy on demo rides. They would sell a lot more bikes.

At Sturgis this year Black Hills Harley Davidson was letting everyone with a valid licence ride ....they had designated routes set-up for the rides.

They sold a lot of Harleys during bike week.

Whatever we might say about Harley....they know how to market their products better than everyone else.

Just makes sense to let people ride the gol-darned things.
