I am getting ready to upgrade my suspension and I am contemplating between the 440's and the 418's. I like the looks of the 418's better than the 440's but was wandering if anyone else out there are using the 418's. I tried calling Progressive today but I just keep getting some guys answering machine. Doesn't anybody work out there in California? Every time I call a company in California I have a real good chance of getting an answering machine or no response at all. And yes I am taking into account the 3 hour time difference. Any reviews or thoughts on the shocks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ron

OK, Finally got ahold of Progressive and they said that the 440's are definitly a supperior shock so it's the 440's. Since I am doing this I am changing front springs as well with the Progressives. Now the question is how much oil goes into each fork tube and what weight (oil) recommendations. I figure I may as well do it all at one time and it looks like Phat Performance has the best prices out there. Suggestions

This thread is for your front spring work fork oil

This is an upgrade that I'll be doing over the winter. I was looking through the Phat Performance web site and noticed that the 440 rear shocks come in different versions (who knew). Does anyone have pics of the three different versions on their bike?

See my gallery for the 440C. This is probably the most common model. It has top and bottom caps of brushed aluminum that matches our bike well. The springs are chrome. The 440CC version has real chrome top and bottom caps (chromed over aluminum I think) but costs another $110 or so, and is not worth it for me. I personally like the look of the 440C model.

Thanks I'll take a look.
Although they wouldn't look right on my bike has anyone used the black ones? I think they would look good on a black bike.
