I know there is loads of stuff about this subject but would like to get straight to the point anyway. After completing a 600mile trip with 2 friends I found my 04 BA fighting to keep up with the other bikes especially overtaking so would like a bit more power without shelling out too much hard earned wonga. I removed the snorkel on the airbox and found it dying at med/high rpms (too lean I think) If i was to up jet to say a 130 would this alone provide noticeable power increase? Also is it worth removing the 2 internal snorkels as well?. I am not keen to drill the box as I often have to ride in very wet weather here in Scotland (we have no choice). Pipes are long TOR's. AI removed, K&N filter. If I was to splash out I would like to get the 904cc big bore kit. Would this mean a further jet increase?

Go to the Tech Vault. Dinqua's Jetting Calculator will tell all.

If you increase the displacement you'll have to increase air and fuel availability to match.
Many of the riders here have increased their jet sizes to match free flowing modifcations (both intake and pipes) with good results, look at the dyno charts from the recent NH rally and see how those compare to your current equipment setup. Then cruise to the tech vault and get the calculator & check out the Jenks Carb Pdf guide for a better understanding.

Stephen, just for your info I have a drilled box and only recently have come back from a long tour north through flooding rains around Newcastle New South Wales. FYI My bike didn't miss a beat once and I can guarantee the rain I came through was something else. So my point is that if you drill the whole inside the filters template, you should be like me and have no probs. Just thought you may be interested.
