My guy and I were sitting on the wall down at Bretton Point in Newport, RI today, gorgeous day out on the bike, sitting and watching the kites flying against the brilliant blue sky, the sunlight shimmering over the ocean.

We did the math and figured that at 45 years old, if I live till I'm 90, I've got a little over 2300 weekends left to make the most of.....not that I don't do my best to make the most of every day, but that pesky job seems to get in the way of what I really consider to be my "life."

What's that saying that somebody said, I think I've seen it posted here as well...."Get busy living or get busy dying."

That line was in The Shawshank Redemption. Red was quoting Andy.

Just get out and do

Whether it's riding, spending time with friends and family (though that can be combined), or chiling, just do.

You say that you have x weekends left....thats subject ot not getting hit by a bus, a car, a van etc... or anything else...

Don't think about it.

As someone who has been hit by car twice: I don't reccommend it!

I've been hit by a car once, and I wouldn't recommend it either, but a beer truck, well.... Perhaps a few flagons of the stuff would roll out of the back and at least then I'd have something to make my last moments more pleasurable....

Forget math, if your looking back at something you can't change, you aint looking ahead at something you can.

Everything is relative. Without hardship you wouldn't know what happiness is. Yin and Yang. Simple.

NINETY???!!!

Have you REALLY thought this thing through, Paula?!

I don't know about you, but another old saying has just popped into my little head regarding this topic...."If I knew I'd live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself!"(I think it was good ol' Sam Clemens who first said that, but I could be wrong)

Heck! I'd be happy with an even 80!!!

(but check back with me about this in some 24 years from now when I'm 79, okay?!...I COULD be wrong about that TOO)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have a "real" age of 37.8 and can expect to live to 90.2
