Can anyone tell me how to get rid of / disable this function?

Are you talking about the URL text "Jump to first unread post" on the top left of a thread with unread responses?
If so, it's there via UBB.threads (the forum software).
If not, can you please elaborate?

Phil, yes that is what I'm talking about. Whenever I go into a thread I have to find the beggining of it as I am deposited somewhere in the middle.

The software 'remembers' the last post you have read and returns you to the next reply. I've looked at the configuration settings in the Control Panel and the My Home page and there are no settings for this. Sorry...

Thanks anyway. The software remembers, but I don't....................that can't be good!

I'm not sure I understand. If I choose Active Topics I can either go the first post by clicking the link under Subject or the last post by clicking the link under Posted...using Safari on a Mac, is it an Internet Explorer thing?

It's only if you go into a thread where you see that. Hey John, perhaps clicking on 'Active Topics' (in the top right URLs of each forum) and using Ed's way might give you what you want? I don't use that way but thank you, Ed. I'm betting others will thank you too!

If it is a multi-page thread, you can click the little "1" under it (page number listing) and it will go to the first page.

Or click "Mark all as read" and then you'll go to the first post of every thread.

Thanks Y'all. It's pretty bad the computer remembers what I already looked at but I don't.
