AND WHAT THE MAN AT TRIUMPH TOLD ME.
Really he did. I told you that when I got back of the tour. The EU says they should be as well.

I am guessing that the '08s that are down under right now are really 07 ½'s.
You know what? With he wheel changes on the '07's and the tank/FI change of the '08s. The '07s are the only year for that style (sort of like the '64 Comet and '64 Falcon - the only year of that exact style). Really will make the '07s almost a collectors piece in few years.

What I think has happened over here in Aust & NZ is that the models are still 07 with the addition of new style tank & seats, they have probobly run out of 07 style tanks & seats and they have added the new style components to fill the backlog of orders. If they are being assembled in Thailand that would explain why we have the new style first (geographicaly speaking)and the fact that they haven't been officially launched by Triumph suggests to me that the new model America will come out with fuel injection and will undergo the appropiate Media Launch etc. So what does that make mine - a "Hybrid" I spose, I'm glad to still have carbies and I'm glad that I can still add on aftermarket pipes, and I'm glad to be riding the best cruiser available Hoffo

Vic dealer advises 2007 is no longer in production but there is plenty of 2007 stock available (depending on colour selection). All new models coming in are 2008. He advised EFI is not in the 2008 Australian models (at least for now).
I guess they may be using up carburetor stocks in countries where emission standards are not as tough and EFI may have to be in the EU bikes as they can no longer meet emission standards.
Just have to wait for the official announcement which should be in a few weeks.

Hey midlifecrisis, did you go to the Ringwood Peter Stevens launch of the new models. I did and thought it was a pretty good night; a nice food spread, drinks, all the new models and clothing range. I thought it was really good customer service. The icing on the cake was the demo-rides on the following Saturday..
