It's been a long road back for the big, bad mastiff/lab I helped to get into the shelter accross the street. He almost died from a fever and pneumonia. IV's for fluids and hand feeding by the good people at the shelter saved him. A friend from the shelter walked him over to visit and I was greeted with big slobbering kisses. Poor guy was not a bad guy after all, just near death with fever. He is up for adoption now, having passed all temperment tests with flying colors. Some good news to brighten all you dog lovers' day!  Mike Sr.

The wife is happy and I am lucky we don't live or work that close to any shelters....

When I adopted my first pitbull I sent my sister back for a mastiff I saw but she came back with my collie shepard who turned out to be a wonderful dog too. I always wanted a mastiff though but 2 pitbulls is enough for now. Maybe once my place sells and I find a farm I can have a few more.
