So, here's my first week with my TBA.

I get it on tuesday, ride it home from the dealer, and take it for a ride that night. Great.

Wednesday, early A.M. I come down with the flu, I'm out. No riding for me.

Thursday, equilibrium still a bit wobbly, so no riding.

Friday, my parents come into town to see the grandkids. I get home from work and spend some family time. No riding.

Saturday, parents still in town, tell them I've had enough and am going for a ride. First ride since Tuesday.

Sunday, ride to the store, get some buns for dinner, planning on riding more, until a severe thunderstorm warning comes across the television.

Hopefully this week the fates will play better with me.

Also, the very first time I pulled the bike into my garage, I unknowingly brushed it up against a fabric desk chair that's stored in there. On Saturday, when I finally pulled it out, there was a large unidentifiable black glob on the pipes where the fabric had melted. It looked like the chrome on the pipes was bubbling off, and I was a bit distraught until I figured out what it was. After the pipes heated up, it re-melted and wiped right off. Crisis averted.

Congrats, and I see that you have learned the first of a few lessons......

- too many things come before riding....
- those pipes really do get hot.....

Enjoy and ride safe.

Congratulations nice bike! I've had my SM less than 2 months and nearly clocked 2000mls; you can't get me off it! The other half is complaining that he is falling down the pecking order.!

Nice bike, I never thought the pipes would get that hot and put the dust cover over it, it melted. Ride safe

nice bike!

ride-killing schedules like yours (and wife, 2 small kids, etc.) are why I ride to work as much as I can... Allows you to get out, enjoy a little riding while accomplishing the daily task of commuting. Plus, with gas prices the way they are - it certainly helps to save some bucks that I would have spent taking the cage.

Yep pratt, rode in to work today.

Luckily in Boise we go about four months with no rain in the summer.
