If I'd done that I would have matted the chrome ala Exile Cycles. It's a good bob and it looks wicked fast.

It does have a few nice touches, but not shaved enough for the flat black look. Sorry.

Can't say it does anything for me. Wouldn't look twice at it if I was walking past.

It's a good start, but feels incomplete to me. He needs to take it much, much farther.

its needs a bit more cake to make the icing stay down

I like the paint job - I'd like to do mine matt black

I just bought another car off e-bay so I'm keeping my wallet in my pocket for that one!

I never criticize someones bike on this site, I just don't. But since this bikes owner is not (pretty sure he isn't)a member here I will say I hate this bike looks like he got carried away with a spray can. Also, what makes it a custom?" I always thought you would have to do a lot more than bolting on some aftermarket stuff, and cutting the fenders before it was considered a custom.

if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

Gotta go with the 'Thumbs down' crowd. Although I do like the matt black chop look, too many stock parts still on to make it look 'Right'. More a cheap hack and spray can try to get more money from someone inexperienced. Probably wouldn't take that much to complete it tho... Here's the 98 cents back from your dollar

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?

Can't say I'm too impressed with this one.
I've had my America for a month now and one of the reasons for getting it was It's looks as designed.
I can understand some performance mods and subtle changes but this is way way too dark for me.

I got mine because of the way it looked and added bit n pieces to it Chrome etc. But this is a little over the top for me. If it was cheaper though I would buy it and play around with it..

I'm with the English crew; i bought my speedmaster because i thought it looked awesome as is. There aren't too many bikes out there that look this great without spending loads of cash customising. I've merely added a few discreet touches to individualise my ride. I think the best looking bikes are the ones that you really have to look at to see what changes have been made. Then you see people saying, "oh, i didn't see that" or "i like the way they've done that". Just my thoughts...

I agree I like mine pretty much the way it is. just a few touches to make it mine same with wendy. I have to admit I would like to do a springer on mine though.

Somehow, I get the feeling that he saw a Nightster and said, "I wish I had one of those", then set about trying to make one.

To be honest, it reminds me of a 'rat' - the sort of job you'd do on the cheap to some old knackered bike to try and hide the sins... Reminds me of what I did to my '76 Kawasaki Z400 (originally in '70's brown' ) Thought matt black was really the only way forward. Crap paint job looking back, but thought it looked the mutts at the time and at least it covered all the rust!
Seems a bit irregular to want to respray a new America like that though IMO. As for the other mods, quite like 'em...
