Right, here goes;
could the members who have fitted belt drives please post full tech specs on them so I can make what I want from lightweight materials @ the ratio I require & @ a "reasonable" cost. I don't see why we should hand over good money for over-weight, over-priced, take-it-or-leave-it, re-cycled industrial power transmission components that people like QPD foist upon us. Pulley "Outers" & belts are available from industial factors, Dural (R97S, Group 7 aircraft spec alloy) rotors can be spun up on any lathe & do any of us really need to pay for a box with some firms name on it?
Next; have any of you fitted 4 pot calipers from any other models from the Triumph range? I regard the 2 pot floaters as a cost cutting excercise & would much rather trust "real" brakes, as opposed to something best suited to a CB250. Also, it would look much prettier with some "Triumph" logoed lumps as well as working far more efficienly.
Lastly, pipes; Leo Vinci sell end-caps for their KO2 Silvertail range @ £35 each, these can then be grub-screwed to the ends of stainless cans. I'm in the process of making 3 sets of pipes for 2 SMs & a TBA from 316 L stock from a local supplier to the brewing & dairy industries. I've made several (read hundreds of) pipes & cans for bikes & cars from s/s over the years & would not even consider any of the chromed toss on offer. Tuneable, removable baffles; rust-free longevity, polished or brushed finish to suit the owner/style of the bike. I only suggest the LV end-caps because of the time/cost of tin-bashing some fishtails by hand,(done it before, it takes hours). Tell me I'm wrong.

Hello,
Can't speak for the Belt-Drive Conversion,

Sorry for the previous, a little too eager with the tab button apparently, anyhoo, don't know anything about the Belt-Drive conversion, but I had the same feelings as you regarding the brake calipers. With that in mind, had picked up a set of Triumph TT600 calipers; these have the nice triumph logo in raised relief on the sides of the piston housing, and are themselves 4-piston opposed calipers, In short, in order for these TT600 calipers to fit, as near as I can tell, you'd have to mill the mounting posts down to about a 1/3 of their current thickness, in order to get the caliper centerline roughly center with the axis of the brake rotor, and even then, just eyeballing the centerline of the caliper mount bolt holes against the fork tube mount points, I think there's about a 1/2cm difference between the two. In other words, I'm convinced that its too much effort to get them to fit, and if you do, I wouldn't trust the caliper mount points; they'd have to be milled down so much, they wouldn't have much strength left in them.

Been floating about a bit & found the same Beringer (France) callipers listed for the 955i, as for the TBS & SM. I'll get in touch with a few breakers to see if I can locate a pair of the stock Nissins from a 955 & measure them up. I could still do with the tech specs on the belt drives though, if any of you kind gentlemen would be so obliging. I've found 1 listed @ £900! But I'm afraid that's just too silly for comment. The TT callipers could probably be mounted on a bracket but I'd rather utilise the existing mounts "as is".

Yeah, between experimenting with those $30 calipers from Ebay, and attempting to mod the forks themselves, I'd sacrifice those TT calipers hand's down, bad mojo to start messing with the fork mounting points! Which is too bad, because except for having to bring the calipers out from the centerline of the front rim, it seems like they would fit fine, with a little work here and there. I sent an email out to some outfit in California that bling blings up Brembo calipers for Harleys, they didn't bother responding to me about possible Triumph Applications. Fugg em!
