Brokenfixed, I found the build that you are looking for, the pic is at the very bottom of the site, it's at this address: Bitter End Choppers
EUREKA!!!....Ghostrider way to come thru for a MF'R
The way thats mounted seems a little more secure than I thought. If you look, the loops are ovaled so the hammer cant spin around...and its pitched forward a bit with the frame so when you do hit a bump, it doesnt go straight out the top. Plus the wind hitting it keeps it down a bit as well as the weight of the hammer. Its scientifically spellbinding!!..ahha
The way they mounted it is pretty cool, but one pot hole and I think may fall out!

Take a look at LarkFarms bobber in the NH Rally thread. It's cool, and so is he. Dig the faux oil tank.

At the same time though, the hammer is quite top heavy, so the forces are always going to be there for it to come out. I know that it's cantered forward (for possibly easy reach). Something like a leather snap holding it in would keep relieve my mind a bit. Especially from it going through an unsuspecting cagers windshield. I do like the idea though! Plus, it's your bike! Do what you want to it! I would love to see pics of the finished product!!

Any help you can contribute would be most appreciated.

that guys got his mounted pretty well though....the hangers are ovaled so the hammer cant spin, its pitched forward a bit so when the bike hits a bump the hammer doesnt shoot straight up, it slams back into place when the bike comes back down...and the weight pushing on the hammers weight keeps it down too....but i'd feel safer if it had some rubber on the inside of the holder or something that.
I have to say, if it cant be removed easily with one hand, then its just a decoration. I mean I really dont plan on using it, but bolting it to the side is a cop-out.

Is it leather or copper? Either way it looks very trick!

I realize you're being a smart a ss, but my list of things bobbers DO NOT have is short:
Bobbers (real bobbers, not OCC abortions or whatever is on TV) DO NOT have anything that isn't necessary to go, turn, or stop. That's my complete list.

Oh you got the smart a$$ part? sweet.
Well I'll tell you thats a mighty fine definition. Worthy of websters in fact. When exactly did I say I was trying out for the bobber position anyway?...I hope you didnt fall for my little "bobber" joke in my gallery?
While we're on the subject...is it your belief that things should be clasified into specific order? Ya know? Like taking something, naming it, and then listing scrict rules and regulations in order for everyone to blend into one group? Thats pretty boring man. Everyones riding the same thing.
Youre telling me a guy that rides a real 100% non-OCC, anti-television chopper motorcycle, clasified into the "bobber" catagory cant have turn signals on the back? Or even a hammer mounted on the side like the guy in that link with the knuckle head?...Where do you draw the line?....are front & rear fenders useless?...How about handle grips? How about padded seats?
What about kick starts?....you gotta problem with kick starts? I mean technically you can always pop-start them and avoid that useless sissy kickstart on the side.
Or would that then clasify as a class III section 4-5 "XTREME BOBBER"

Well I think it could look kinda cool but you could be asking for trouble from the Cops. Around here you can be busted for carring the classic tire iron under the seat of your car, its considered a weapon in a motorvehicle. Think the law might equate a ball peen mounted on the side of a bike with that.Freind of mine has a pool cue case mouted to his hard bags. Has been stopped twice and had the Police look in the case to make sure he aint packin a shot gun.

Then why not just carry a pistol?
...and unless your prepared to use it someone will take it out of your hand and...
lol...love the hammer pic, an insight into how it used to be and it does look bada$$, but why does everything have to have tassels? Is it worth a conviction for carrying an offensive weapon, probably not. On a functional note if a driver requires calibration why not just wait until the next set of light and boot the mirror off the offending vehicle.

I'd like make a handlebar-mounted AA cell battery launcher, wipe all the fingerprints off the batteries, and make some sort of trigger device that I can still use w/ gloved fingers to launch the batteries 1-2'' over my head, straight up, and let wind and speed take care of the rest...
Now this is on track if you ask me, maybe not with the hammer theme, but I like it. I think rear fender mounted pneumatic battery launcher would be better though, less risk of shooting your eye out . It could be controlled via a 12v solenoid, trigger on the tank. This is a must for future projects list. Tailgater on cell phone beware!!!
On topic, a guy at work has a surgical hammer, meant for breaking large bones I think. He's an odd guy, don't ask, but it's a bad a$$ looking piece of hardware. Heavier and more compact than a typical ball peen for sure.
I see a chrome bike and I want to paint it black.

Well you might be the one who actually knows about the MC thing. What do you think? Am I really asking for trouble with a hammer on the side? Im not the kind of guy wearing t-shirts with toughguy quotes on them like "100% american baddass" and crap like that...To me that crap says more than a hammer on the side.

In general you would be fine. If a cop pulls you over it is definately a weapon. If the wrong 1%er sees it and has a hair across his pooper you are likely in deep trouble.
