Could someone please explain the throttle cable adjustments? I'm not that mechanically dis-inclined, but I don't get it. If I screw them back (away from the handle) the throttle gets tight and doesn't want to move or spring back. If I screw them in (toward the handle) the throttle moves easily. Is there anything more to them?

Thanks!

Think of it as a send and return system, a cable for each direction open and closed and you want to get them set to work together. Allow about 1mm slack in the "on" cable and adjust the "off" cable to compliment the return action. BTW it's always a good idea to sit on the bike idling in neutral and turn the handlebars to the stops in each direction after making throttle cable adjusments to avoid unpleasant surprises.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Back on my very first Honda I "Adjusted" the throttle. Later I was backing into a parking spot at school when I turned the bars to the stop and the engine went to WOT right there in front of the girl I was trying to impress. Startled me so bad I almost dropped the bike. Boy did I look cool that day

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
