No offence taken folks, everyone has a right to their opinion.I personally like the Tank shape. Anyway I will upload a pic of the bike(rear view), and Gina they are carbs not EFI in disguise on my bike anyway, perhaps later on they might do that. I would have bought an 07 model if this one had EFI don't know hou to upload photo in this thread, it will be in the photopost. He said something bout whilst the AI is plugged they leave the tubes in - covers thier a&**e Hoffo

starting to show the oriental influence with that tank. Shapeless and plain in my opinion. It needs the knee pad indents to give it that Triumph personality.
Dog, "oriental" isn't PC anymore. It's "Asian". Folly?

All the reflections make it hard to see the actual shape of the tank. That, or all the beers. I'd like to see one in person as well. Uncle Charlie

All this fuss about changing the shape of the tank reminds me of when the Speedmaster first came out and a few no-taste yo-yos thought that it was iconoclastic

I don't really like it and I don't like what looks to be a painted on badge. It looks OK from the riders position but not from the side. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see one in person.

I like it. I don't notice any rolled edge to the bottom of the tank. I reminds me of the way the newer sportsters went.

Can't say that I like the tank either. Looking more at the pics dose not seam to be changing my mind. Also the fact that they did the Speedmaster the same way is disconcerning. But it has been my experience that pictures do not do most motorcycles justice and they always look better in person. When they come to Indy I am going to have to make a run to the dealer and then form my final opinion.

Hoffo, congratulation mate on your new ride. Regarding the tank, I like the look of it for sure but having the old shape my obvious preference is the tear drop. I'm wondering though why the change given Triumph marketed the Bonnyvilles on past generations. Does this shape tank reflect any past tanks Triumph built and if so what models were they? I'm just a tad confused to why they changed unless this is the first of many. If that is the case I believe they should start thinking about changing the name then. Anyway, just forgetting the cosmetics for a moment. You have just bought yourself one of the best toys money can buy. safe riding matey.

This one is a replacement for an 07 model I totalled 2months ago (insurance),don't remember what the 07 capacity was but in the new handbook it states this model: Tank Capacity 16.6 lit. Reserve Fuel 3.5 lit. Have another 3 Toys under the house. This is by far the best bike i've owned in 37 yrs of riding (even better than my Black Shadow). I too am confused why they changed the tank design. the old one was brilliant Hoffo

My 07 has a chrome sprocket cover. I think that's the year it started, but not sure.

Just outta curiosity, is that tank badge a separate metal badge (fitted into a recess or something) or a sticker? Hard to tell with the reflections. For what it's worth, I like the new tank. I imagine gripping it with your knees is more difficult than the current tank. Anyways, nice ride, Hoffo.

It's a cast metal tank badge, it's got a sort of a eyebrow on top reminiscent of older models but a bit more contempory in design. I've just run downstairs to have a look at badge and it appears to be stuck on - no screws, no indent in tank for badge, Hoffo

Since in '08 or '09 all the bikes will be FI and that will eliminate the need for a petcock and that will eliminate switching for reserve and currently the shape of the tank makes it almost impossible to hook up a fuel gage, maybe that is why they changed the shape. Maybe Triumph will be adding a fuel gage to our bikes.

I kinda like it...but looks too much like the new HD sportster custom tanks, IMO. The cutouts in the older tanks are part of what makes our bikes unique. I've had many compliments on the tank shape of my '03 speedy. Not sure I like the badges either - but have to see them in person. congrats on the new bike!

I think if it is along those lines the more likely reason is to make room for the fuel pump. I still think they could have kept the shape and widened it just a little to make room. Even at that It seems there is plenty of room if you do away with the dash and put an offset fuel cap on one side and the gauge/fuel pump either on the other side or above or below it like the old bikes had for other reasons.

I like the tank, also would like to see one close up in reality.. Not really sure about the badges, as it is hard to see in this photo exactly what they are like.
