I was checking out some features on the home page and it seems like if it hasnt been updated since 2004 then its disabled. What gives?
The performance guide had some info for me but I can see that being a great tool for folks and the photo contest hasnt happened since 2004 among many other things.
I was just wondering what was up?

About a year ago (in fact late '05 if I remember correctly) the site was rebuilt from scratch using new forum software to fix a problem with the old software slowing to a crawl and crashing frequently once it got too full. At that time several of the features on the front page were incompatible with the new software and were put "on hold". Shortly after that real life got hold of Robert (the site's owner) and he basically retired from managing the site, leaving it up to the moderators to look after the forums.

While we can do pretty much anything to the forum itself I don't think we can get to the html front end. Many of the frequent visitors skip the front end completely and bookmark the main forum page.

Hope that explains it.

If someone (ahem) could get ahold of Robert and have him spend 5 minutes on the BA.com front page, you might get a lot more Triumph riders in here.

It took me probably around two weeks to realize that just because the rest of the site is outdated, doesn't mean the forum is. I almost didn't sign up because the front page was so old. I thought this site was as dead as the "other" BA forum is.

The "other" guys must have been reading your mind as they've freshened their site recently. Like others, I skip the front and dive right into the forums...

Seems seems to me like we have plenty of newbies around here. Everyone can quit their whining and go for a ride.

Nah it means he'd spend the rest of the day and the whole of the next one strip the bike down and cleaning it!

I guess i got pointed directly to the forums from a link or web search, i can't remember.
It took me a couple weeks before i even noticed there was an actual home page.
