Hey guys I just knew everyone would want to hear about this lol. My buddy who is a sportbike guy bought an 07 dyna lowrider with the 96in motor cause he always anted a harley and I must say I was very surprised when he started doing wheelies on the thing.. that is insane lol he says it has a warrenty so he doesnt care what happens lol. Whats your thoughts? is the America next, will we be doing wheelies lol

A friend of mine insists that with the right amount of skill anything can be wheelied. I let him ride my bike years ago after the K&Ns went on and I rejetted the carbs and he insists that the front end started to come up. But I didn't see it and I suspect he was pulling my leg.

yea I think the key is alot of low end torque or alot of rpm and we dont accel in either of them areas haha. my other bike is a 97 bigdog vintage classic with a decent amount of work, it was dynod at 85hp and 96ft.lbs before the cam and carb swap so its got some grunt but its a big bike like an flh so i dont think its happening and im not gonna find out lol im scared..

Guy i knew years ago used to wheelie his Gold Wing. He could get the top box to scrape the road. Personally, i always thought he was a nutter

hey I used to pull wheelies back in the day on the gold 250 honda twin (75 model I think) If you can pull whelies on that thing then a low rder or america would be easy (I know they have a much longer wheel base )........

I watched a dude do wheelies on a full dressed ultra classic the other day. His fender was stove to heck from the forks compressing. It was awesome a bunch of zoom splats were pulling them so he cruised up and shouted the obligatory hey watch this and busted a couple out. You have to see it to believe it.

You can wheelie the America. Like most anything, it takes technique.

No Probs. Rear pegs are the way to go. Just tried it a few times to see. Lands fairly hard. Not really a good idea but achievable.

I would be more concerned about bending the front fork legs or blowing the fork seals on our bikes, since they have a 33+ rake angle.

I can yank the front wheels in fifth gear on my craftsman riding mower.... does that count?

On old friend that did wheelies on his electra glide did a wheelie in a city of Chicago garbage truck. Pack half a load up to the hopper, sidestep the diverter pedal on the Sundstrand transmission and the 230 horse Cummins would lift the front wheels a foot off the ground. Watching the big man bounce around in the cab will be a smiling memory for me for the rest of my life. He showed me how to wheelie my 77 GS750 that same day.

Yup. Our bikes come down hard- even while hard on the throttle. I stood on the rear pegs and pulled a couple in the neighborhood just for grins. After the 2nd one, it was clear breakage was eminent.

I know that the front of my Night Train gets very light if I crank the throttle hard in 4th gear. If I popped the clutch it would no doubt lift off.
I also know that my America will spin the rear wheel starting off before it will lift the front one when I'm sitting properly. I have a feeling that wind resistance would shift the balance enough to lift the front quite handily on the 3rd gear shift if I gave it a lot of throttle and let go the clutch.
