I just started keeping a fuel consumption log myself. Why? Because I noticed my Miles per Gallon are extremely inconsistent. I'm usually pretty consistent with my riding style which is not very aggressive, yet I feel that my fuel consumption dose not match my riding consistency. I hope by collecting this data I'll be able to tell if there might be an intermittent problem either with fuel delivery or ignition problem. My fuel consumption varies from 32 MPG to 52 MPG. It just seems to me that it is radically inconsistent.

Hi Derek, they are good fuel figures buddy. I get around town approx 50mpg but on a trip I think the side bags act as solid wind blocks and hence 45 to 48 is more the norm. Also I don't pay any attention to riding style yet just because I enjoy the get up and go possible compared to my ute. Anyway yeah, I wouldn't mind your sending me the file spreadsheet as I too keep a record mainly when going on trips but now this will do it a bit more professionally for me. I also will eventually be getting my bike freaked with the pods and will be interested in how that effects economy.

thanks for that

I used to never have a pen on me.
Now I have the toolbox that goes behind the number plate and I store a very small pencil in it so I can write down the tripmeter before resetting and I also write down the speedo reading as a double check on the receipt from the fuel stop.
The I just transfer the info when im on the PC
All should need to do is clear out the text in black and put in your own.
Regards

Derek
