I hope the cop shot the SOB. It's like people think traffic rules are for other people.

I had an idiot run a stop sign today right in front of me at 63 / 7 north at the Citgo station in Falls Village today. Never even slowed down until I played him a little tune.
I could have stopped in time and let him go, but it was much more fun to scare the mortal s**t out of him with the 139 dB air horn. Hopefully he'll slow to at least 20 MPH the next time he runs a stop sign.
Thanks Stebel folks

A Stebel air horn The cylinder in the photo is a little air compressor that winds up enough pressure to send 139 dB out the two horns on the bottom. They're easy to mount, in around an hour or so. http://www.stebel.it/stebel/index2007.htmClick products > electropnuematic > nautilus compact series They're pretty popular 'round here, and usually retail for around $30 or $40 Yesterday was the third time in 15 months that the horn has earned it's keep. Considering that a fender bender to a cager is a potential fatality to us, the factory "meep meep" horn had to go.

I want one of those powerful low frequency air horns that causes involuntary bowel movements in cagers.

I want a pair of Air Horns from a GE AC4400 Locomotive. That'll grab some attention!!! Might have to haul a compressor wagon behind me, but...

No you don't, that low end stuff gets everybody in range including the trigger man It's lucky the officer only got his front wheel involved, a second earlier and the cager would be facing manslaughter charges.

John, I was thinking more of the Motorist in this case. Think of it as a forewarning: "ATTENTION: YOU ARE ABOUT TO SCREW YOURSELF SO UNBELIEVABLY ROYALLY, THAT YOU WILL BE LUCKY TO GET OFF WITH A PISTOL WHIPPING AND 20 YEARS BEHIND BARS WITH A GUY NAMED BUBBA! NOW, HAVE A NICE DAY!"

True, but a loud horn is a gentle reminder to cagers invading your space that you're there. Like the car last week trying to merge into my lane. A good push of the horn and they backed off, and stayed far back afterwards. You could tell they had made a mistake by not looking, and felt chastened.

Hey Bucky, do you have a picture of how/where you've got that mounted?

No pic, but it's bolted to a piece of scrap flat stock that's bolted behind one of the four front peg mounting pipe bolts. (Or whatever they're called) You know - those two pipes that horizontally traverse the lower front of the engine. The horn is to the right side of the frame, about a foot or so off the ground, just inside the exhaust down pipe. It probably doesn't make a lot of difference, but I wanted the little horns to face forward for maximum effect.
A much easier way is to just mount the horn where the factory horn goes, like many folks do. I just didn't like it there for some odd reason. A length of black fuel line is lashed to the underside of the frame with wire ties to serve as a dry air inlet.
