I have been shopping around for a new helmet. I think I am going to spring for the Scorpion EXO-400. But anyway, what do you do with your old helmets?

Trash them or give them to your ex-wife or her boyfriend.

Excellent idea!! Let me drop it in the parking lot a couple times first!

Some make passible flower pots. Or, strip out the lining, drill a few holes and use it for a strainer. Paint it with black and white hexagons and use it for a socker ball.

This has the makings of a fun thread. More seriously, old helmets often have deteriorated in ways that can't be readily seen, so it's best to toss them in the dustbin or maybe use them to practice airbrushing before you put a design on a new lid.

I was thinking about buying a mini-itx motherboard (http://mini-itx.com/) for Mac Mini and turning mine into a computer case. I want a slot-loading DVD/CD-RW drive behind the chinbar and a small LCD monitor behind the faceshield. It would make a cool second computer for the living room. Maybe an MP3 server with a wireless link to the stereo (and, of course, my desktop machine in the office). Naturally I need to have my buddy paint it up cool.

Oh, here's one, but I like my idea better. ITX Helmet

I like to hang old helmets and old license plates up in the garage... I know its just more junk taking up space, but oh well. Someday I'll have an old gas pump to put outside the door....

I'd hate to get the dreaded BFSOD (Blue Face Shield of Death).

Ar ar ar...

My old helmet is hanging up in the garage. I'd kept it around in case anything happened to my new helment. Then I knocked the old helmet off its nail in the wall and it hit the concrete from about 7' off the ground. So much for a backup helmet...

Linux will run on just about anything else, I can't see why it won't run on a helmet.

If it's in good condition and never been dropped, donate it to your local learner centre.

If it's scuffed, scratched, dinked, dropped, whiffy or generally knackered, cut the straps off (illegal ride without straps over here) and chuck it!
