Anybody read this book? I picked it up to read with my boys as soon as we are finished with The Count of Monte Cristo. I recommend it for those you with sons or grandsons. Check it out.

Looks like the sort of things we used to do before cable TV, personal computers and video games.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Looks like an awsoeme book. I am going to have to pick up a copy for my son and myself. Any book that would use old school Ramones sounding punk to promote it has to be worth buying.

I received the UK version of this book for Father's day from my Mom. More than just great things to do with the boys, my daughter loves it, too. It stirred a lot of old childhood memories for me which was Mom's goal. I've since picked up a copy of the US version. Both are great!

Hey! What are you tryin' to do here, Rob! After reading Paula's take on this book, it sounds like you're tryin' to ruin the attendance of this here website or somethin'???!!!

Why I'll have you know that this keyboard and I go back a loooooong way, Sir!!! If it twern't for this place I might actually be out there on the road puttin' real miles on my BA!!!

(and you do realize that high-mileage motorcycles are worth a whole lot less on the open market if I ever decide to sell this beauty, don't cha???!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have 2 little neices who are currently losing brain matter via the whole Webkinz movement. My littlest neice just had her 4th birthday....I gave her art supplies and bug catching stuff ( the little house, a magnifying glass, a net). What ever happened to playing outside???

Yep, I agree with ya Paula.

I guess kids just don't stop at the park after school anymore and play "over-the-line" baseball, or touch(which ALWAYS of course turned into TACKLE) football anymore.

(Gee, ya think this may be one of the reasons why there's a "slight increase" in the child obesity rates today?)

Wow , way cool , kinda like some of the stuff in the Foxfire book series . We did 80 % of all that stuff in the book and then some . Some kids now don't have a clue how to have fun without A/C and circuits . Some of us older ones need to hand down these things to the kids ,we don't have so much of a kid problem as we do a daddy problem - i.e. who's he ? Where izzy ?
