I'm curious:
What should you pay for an 07 America?
What do you think the walking price (w/ tax and tags) should be?

What is the best way to sport a deal?

I would expect full retail minus a few dollars usually haggled around dealer prep/accessories.

Tax/tag depends on your city/county/state.

Phil is correct there, oates. You probably will end up paying MSRP plus tax and license, and as he said, haggle the price for the extras.

BUT, you'll find later after looking back at it, and AFTER you've contacted Brent(or any other reputable dealer of aftermarket parts for these machines) why you even bothered to sweat a few hundred bucks this way or that on your initial purchase agreement to begin with!!!

(am I right, fellas???!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Thats about it, you pay the going rate plus. If you are interested in saving money buy used.

I'm not sure if it's because I got it late in the season or because my dealer is a saint, but I didn't actually pay full MSRP for mine. I was a couple of hundred under, plus none of the B.S. delivery and assembly fees that the japanese bike dealers charge.

I, however, was prepared to pay full price. It was a pleasant surprise. I think the dealer cost on the two-tone bikes is around $7300, so there really isn't a ton of wiggle room.

I bought my 2006 America this past May, since it was last years model I paid $7200 plus tax and title. and next to nothing on prep (under $50). If you can find a dealer with a 2006 still on the floor you could probably make a deal.

oates,

So, what do you know about a Disturbance of the Langmuir Probe at the steady state sheath boundary in the drifting plasma?

Actually, I'm trying to ask where you are located?

Anyway MSRP is the norm. You could call around looking for a dealer who'll sell you one under msrp. Or wait 6 more months...

Edited: $3,250 -5 yrs

I laugh when you guys in the US haggle over the price you pay for your bikes, Come and live in "RIP OFF BRITAIN" then you will be thinking you guys get a good deal.

Retail for an America is £6000.00 or 12,294.98 USD at todays conversion rate.

OK, I will it now

You have the luxury of having two good dealers to work with on the purchase. Hermy's and Manayunk Triumph. Tough to negotiate much at this time of the year, better to wait until the fall. I got mine in September and the dealer (in Delaware - no longer selling Triumph) faced the prospect of having the bike through the winter. He called me on the way to Manayunk to agree to everything I wanted. Less than MSRP + lightbar, luggage rack, installation.

Of course, this was four years ago - these bikes are getting a lot more popular. YMMV

Manayunk lists the single color America on their site at $8,000, two-tone $8200. Speedmaster $8300/$8500.

Sounds like Allentown. My family roots go back to Upper Paxton: Millersburg. Good luck on your search. You'll find one soon.

It doesn't really work out like that though cause you guys get paid in pounds. Things that cost $5 in the U.S. cost 5 pounds. Now if you got paid in dollars and bought stuff that cost pounds then yes, you get ripped off, bad. But if you get paid in pounds it's not that bad.

Well, the Thai bikes should be cheaper for you because the shipping from Thailand to Oz is significantly cheaper than the shipping from Old Blighty.
