My bike cuts out when I hit the rev limiter. I know it is suposed too. The problem is that it does not come back on right away, and it does the same thing. I then tried turning off the kill switch an turning it back on . The bike does does start after about 10 seconds . It feels like an ignition problem. Can someone help me figure this out? I dont want to just buy a new cdi if that is not the problem.

Mine has done that a couple times had to turn the key off and back on to get it to refire. Not sure if the key did it after the kill switch or just the extra time it took to do that but I haven't had any trouble since I simply don't hit the rev limiter anymore.

When you say your bike hits the rev limiter, are you just into the limiter or well into the limiter? Every once in a while I will get carried away and get into the limiter pretty well and it will cut out and it seems like it will take a couple seconds or so to reset or get back to where it knows where its at so to speak. So I believe that if this is what yours is doing then I would say either it is normal or mine has the same problem as yours but as soon as it "resets itself" it runs just fine. If you just hit the rev limiter for a split second and you shift does it run OK? I have never had anything with a rev limiter but I would assume this is the way that they work. Any other input out there???? Oh and I would not shut her down after you are into the limiter just wait a couple seconds and see what happens!

I am not sure I will have to try it. But it also does it when I hit the kill switch and turn it back on.
