The Rocket 3 oil filter chrome cover fits our bikes. Gives a little extra protection from stones that hit the filter, and looks good too.

ok...I understand the want/need to protect the oil filter from road debris, but seriously...why would anyone want chrome UNDERNEATH your bike? It'd be like getting a chrome oil drain plug or a chrome front sprocket...

Or chrome valve cover, or chrome handlebars, or chrome wheels, or chrome headlight, or.... Shoot, why not black everything out? Oh, that's right, then you'd have a speedmaster!

It goes in the category of unseen tatoos, doesn't it? Sort of like you're the only one that knows it's there so you're the only one that's in on the secret. Still, we lack a protective cover for the oh-so-vulnerable oil filter and the price is right on this piece. Now if I can just find that can of hi-temp black wrinkle paint...

Nice bling machine, can't ever go wrong with black and chrome.

Mark,
Like AA there should be CA for those chromaholics. (it's a disease man)
On topic, how would a chrome cover have helped Keith out when he was rolling back from the Georgia 07 rally? All he would have had would have been a trashed oil filter AND a trashed Chrome oil filter cover.

I don't know what the big issue is. With all the bikes being dropped lately a chrome oil filter would get plenty of eyeballin'...

The Amsoil chrome plated oil filter works great. I only need to polish it once a year!!

So, really, how thick is it? Thick enough to save the oil filter from, say, a disc brake pad turned into flying road debris? 'Cause I want one if it is.

Aw, don't be sorry. By now you should know that just about every subject gets twisted/derailed around here. I like chrome, I just don't pay full price anymore.

For some there may not be such a thing as too much chrome.

For me, I'll stick with black and little bit of chrome.
