Thanks to all of the opinions given here on my Vulcan vs America decision. It was greatly appreciated.  I paid for my new 2007 Pacific Blue/New England White America this morning. The dealer is running a bit behind on assembly, so I'll get it early next week. I hope after a couple of years I'm still as perversely passionate about the bike as you all are. Thanks again. It was the first time in my life that I wrote an $8000 check with a smile on my face. -Dennis

I think you will soon find that your head will be following your heart. I've ridden both, I would never have been happy with anything else after riding the Bonneville America. 
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Congrats!! They are all right about it being the beginning. I have put a couple of thousand miles on mine in the few months since I have owned it and have spent many a dollar tweaking it to my liking.
06 BA, TOR's, 17T front sprocket, 135/42, needles shimmed, AI removed, drilled airbox, K&N air filter, desnorked, SM seat and risers, drag bars, pro-grips....let's ride!!

I haven't regretted an inch of 17,000 miles of Triumph ownership. I find myself inventing little missions in order to go ride, just to ride: "Need a frimmin jimble bearing at the Doo Dads R' Us store Hon, see you in 6 hours." There's something special about these bikes that the others just can't capture. The 100 plus year legacy for one; the lack of market saturation / sense of exclusivity for another. Love 'em or hate 'em, those who know motorcycles respect the Triumph name. Those who bash them are motorcycle wanna-bes. If I had a dollar for every time someone has asked about or admired this bike... From the gas pumps and lunch stops to people (who apparently can't see all the FatUrchin wallop marks & paint scratches and such) yelling from cars at stop lights, "Dude! What year is that?" "Awesome!" Add to that they're good looking, light, nimble, quick & reliable, and you can't go wrong. Enjoy! You will

congrats and smart choice. now go to the tech section and see the mods you need to do right away, A/I removal and carb tweaking, and a sweet selection of after market pipes that are available. i have had many different bikes in my 40 someyrs of rideing and this one is the best!!!!

17 months and 19,000 miles, everyday gets better for me, took 2 hours to detail her last night, still shines like a new penny.....would buy her again in a heart beat...excellant purchase....
