I think Moe scheduled his trip on days you would be working on purpose. That's what I would have done...

Moe, call the UPS office in Bryan and request that they hold the package for pick-up. It should be ready by 10:00 AM. I had to do this several times when I owned my business in College Station. The direct line is 979-776-3531 (real people, no computers, don't ask how I got this number) Congratulations on a beautiful bike. I wish I could have beat you to it.

Thanks Mark!
Helping someone out who stole a bike right out from under you! Had I known before I booked my flight I would have let you have first dibs as I have a bike and you don't. But as it is go and get your endorsement NOW! So you can be set for the next deal that comes along. I'll keep looking and if I see another one I'll put a call in for you.
How about breaking some bread with us on Tuesday? Ron Tam Kenny and I are planning to eat lunch.

Hey Moe, August 1st works better for me but I know your frustrated with the plan delays. Nathen (nuthin) and I was hoping to hook up with ya! I think Levi is out of the deal probably a scheduled appointment with his shrink Will you have a cell phone with you? I can back track south of Dallas and hook up somewhere and help you navigate through the jungle and find Nathen! Have some lunch and send U on your way north toward OKC. Whatch Ya think?
You know, that sounds like the way I should let it happen. Stay over night in Bryan then if you guys are up for it do as you suggest and ride up to Dallas after you back track to Waco or Corsicana.
I'll PM you my cell number.

Dang Levi, Are you related to Yota? Here Terry makes mention of your shrink, you are suggesting that I change all my plans to accommodate you! And Nathen is implying that I would want to steer clear of you! Hum, you sound like just the kinda brother I would want to meet!

You guys are just jealous cuz I'm so handsome! Besides, with my new meds, my doctor says I only need therapy (see "electroshock") 6 days a week now. Let me know where you guys are going to be and when, and maybe I can nip out from the office for a bit. Doubtful, but a fella can hope can't he?

Well, the next leg of the "Texas fly and ride" adventure is underway. Moe pulled out from Bryan, TX around 0730 on his "new" bike. Headed to Waco to meet a few members from this site then continuing north. Had a great visit yesterday with satxron. Moe got a proper welcome to the Lone Star state.
At least I have not cried yet b/c I figured I'd be standing in the driveway bawling my eyes out seeing Moe ride away on my bike. I suppose having a brand new cycle in the garage helped ease some of the sorrow!! But the BA was/is an AWESOME bike.
Moe - hope you have a great trip home. Can't wait to read about the adventure. Please tell Lynn hello and hopefully one day we can meet up again.
Enjoy the ride! Tam

Moe is in Oklahoma City getting ready to have dinner with Greg. More after I put some food in my belly and Greg stops looking over my shoulder and correcting my grammar. Ask him about Valet parking sometime.
Can we say Type A?
Safe and sound. Really nice to meet Terry and Levi and Ron and oh yeah and those certain Texas folks that are some of the nicest people you could ever meet... Tam and Kenny!

Hey Moe, great to meet you. I had an awesome day and was glad to help you on your way. Sorry I almost got us pulled over, I guess I just like to ride fast? Man, that rain HURT! That was easily the worst rain I've ridden in, and it was a challenge to be sure. Terry, thanks again for lunch and it was a pleasure as always. I'm glad you guys got to ride with me, oh, the stories you'll have to tell in the retirement home! Sorry if I made you nervous on the way down to Waco Terry, but I didn't want to be late!

Moe made it Birmingham Last night around 10:00pm. Last heard from in Hueytown, legendary home to Nascar's "Alabama Gang" and of all places he was on Allison Bonnet Memorial Drive looking for a nice motel for the evening. I'm planning on meeting him this morning and I'll let you know later how it's going.

Moe was last seen blazing down Alabama Highway 68 toward Summerville, GA on the way to Chy-town (Dahlonega) where it's rumored he's spending the night. We had a nice day oogling cycles at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds, AL and a lovely ride through the north eastern sector of the state. Pictured below: Moe at the mostly British bike tree (they snuck in a few Hondas) in the Barber Museum

I arrived home yesterday Monday August 6, 2007 at 5pm. My overnights started at Tam and Kenny’s home in Bryan Texas. Then Oklahoma City, the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge in Arkansas, Leeds Alabama (Birmingham), and lastly two nights at the warm and dear home of my friend’s Di and Chy in Dahlonega Georgia. Of all the places I’ve traveled the most memorable times derive from the happenstance of chance and designated scenic highways. Having the brothers and sisters of this site to ride with during my travels is a most profound experience. Something endearing it is to have the comradery of fellow riders wherever one travels. This trip will be fleshed out to try to convey some of the essence of my travels, the people I met, the places I’ve seen. Here I would like to say thanks to those whom I visited and shared time with. Tam (taminator) and her husband Kenny in Byran Texas. They opened their home to me and gave me what I have learned is a hearty Texas welcome with loads of Texas hospitality to boot. Tam and Kenny, thank you! Words cannot convey the special touch you two placed on my trip. Ron (satxron ) who rode over from San Antonio to meet with and have lunch with Tam, Kenny and I. It sure was nice to hear a properly piped trumpet pull up into the Meador’s drive. I only wish we could have ridden more. Levi (Wyrm74) & Terry (tmax) whom I met at the What-a-burger in Waco. I’ll ride with you two anywhere anytime. Get some waterproof frog togs will ya?! Greg (EnglishYankee) whom I met at his hotel in O aklahoma City. Having dinner with him was breaking bread with an old friend. After I said goodnight Greg, I rode to the National Memorial. Harvest moon low in the sky and empty chairs. Man… Ed (oldroadie) who rode down from NE Alabama to meet me for the Barber Museum time warp. If anyone ever wants to have a guided tour of old British Iron, make sure to go with Ed. A walking encyclopedia he is and a brother too. Chy & Di with whom I spent two nights with. Rolling down Wash Rider road IS arriving at home my friends. Your company is cherished. All the trip photos are available here. Bryan TexasThe release of freedom (actual pieces of the Berlin Wall) Waco Texas Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Site of one fast approaching rally... Hey there Moe! So glad you made it back home safely. I know this probably sounds bad but I didn't really miss your bike (OK, my old bike) until I saw pictures. And now I'm like Oh, that's my baby!! Just thinking about all the places Ken and I had been together on our bikes. (Sigh) October needs to hurry and get here so we can get our trip underway!! But I know you'll take great care of her and hopefully have many more adventurous rides!!
Take care, keep in touch and one day we'll make it to Florida.
Your friends in Texas, Tam and Ken

Well I got her paper work in order.
Note the tag on the wall. Last night I changed the oil and filter and while I was cleaning the saddlebags I was imagining the places those saddlebags had been. Lot's of history on them for sure. The left bag has lost 2 inches of it's forward seem. The local cobbler couldn't stitch it back so if a saddle shop can't do it, I'll go buy one of those wicked hooked sewing needles and use some Stren.
I sure hope October gets here soon for y'alls sake! I'll take good care of her Tam. I washed her in Dahlonega GA and rode through no rain that last 550 miles home. I'm thinking about using her as our Florida tourer and commissioning Vera for solo flights. I'll stay in touch and I'll have a bike y'all can ride if you two ever get down this way!
Post ride photos. The transformation begins!

She has 17,852 miles on her now and couldn't be happier!
