Local dealer has a white one and is putting much heat on me to "demo" it. Lol, I cranked the thing on the show room floor Saturday while waiting on a tire and man....it does sound mean. The throttle response on the thing is wicked fast, it shoots to 6K with the smallest of blips on the throttle. (just say no, heheheh).

Well, I have an albino tiger 1050 and it's the PERFECT bike for myself. It's got new model issues...shifting is noiser than the America, fuel guage basically doesn't work (I don't care)...but other than that it is the most fun I've ever had on a motorcycle (with clothes on).

I now have a total different view riding these days...I look at all sportbikes (which I never used to do)on the road, and with the exception of bonnies (seriously!!) I think most cruisers just look goofy, and I feel real comfortable now wearing my helmet...it just fits a bike like this.

It naturally cruises on the highway at around 80-95mph...and no buffering at all (some riders do complain about buffering but I think it was tested for my average height). And when you want to get around slow traffic or out of problem situations...it takes about a 1/4 second..and excellaration/ride is butterysmooth!

Anyway, awesome bike that I plan on keeping for years....but I will say I haven't become attached to it yet like I was to my America. I actually patted my America on the tank when I last rode it...and said thanks (I did, no kidding). Had to keep telling myself it is just a machine.

Yeah, a "pregnant" something or other. Hee Hee, it is so cool to have an insider. I bet he had to take an oath of secrecy to keep from telling us all of the secrets about our bikes and the '08 line. He'll probably tell the other Mod's at their next Maui Rally.

How is my Sprint doing Chy?

Good freind of mine who made the switch from a speedmaster said exactly the same thing....wears his helmet all the time now, which is something he rarely did on the speedy.

Being 6'4", the new Tiger fits me like a glove. Unfortunately, being in the mental health field, it's way too big for my wallet. The only way I could get one is to get rid of the Speedmaster, which I don't want to do right now. I'm keeping my eyes open (and my fingers crossed) for a used older Tiger that's priced right. I'd love to have a second bike...

Being 5' 9" with a 29" inseam I have to look at the tiger. I certainly do not have the height to own one.

I'm with bogie , that 33" seat height is a bit of a stretch for me. I've thought about buying one anyway, lowering the suspension a couple inches (which shouldn't hurt since it's got about 2 feet of travel) and getting the seat remade to drop me another inch. I think it will work. It's like a BMW GS Adventure, get it dirty, covered with bugs and you don't care.
But that's an awesome machine for the money.

EDIT:
I just got home from the dealer. There is a lowering kit that will drop the seat height about 2". That, coupled with a custom seat will make the Tiger tamable for those of us who are altitudinally challenged.
Sweet Bike! Oh, and they've got the 2006 STs on sale at $9899, with the free side case deal intact. Is that a good deal? I guess I better PM Ryan.

Your Sprints looking good man.. gotta tell ya though...couple of guys eyeing it. I'll hold 'em off as long as I can...

I've ridden like 6 of the Tigers now... love 'em. I try to ride the demo out of the shop to the front everyday.
I even got to PDI one last week.. very cool.. I put the first 5 miles on it. The white ones with the blue lettering are my favs... best color by far.

The Tiger definitely has the goods, but to me the Sprint ST and Tiger are VERY similar bikes. The price being about the same, if I had to choose today, the Sprint ST with the hard luggage included seems to be the better deal. I give Triumph another year (2009 model?) before they make the hard bags standard on the Tiger - sales are too good right now without them, so why should they?

My dealer told me about a "figure 8" kit or something, to lower the seat height. Around $80. I hope that includes front/rear.

Oh my god! I do the same thing, well almost. When in I'm out and get the nice bike or Sadie gets the long hard rubber necker stares then she gets the pat on the tank. When I pull up into the garage she gets another pat and a you still got it girl, or some thing to that effect. Oh and by the way there not just machines!

Sorry, been on vacation.

The Tiger is an outstanding bike. Love it. It shares the garage with my trusted Speedie.

It's very fast and responsive...and loves the few twisties I can find around here.

A totally different ride than the Speedie.

User notes:
- the brakes work really well on the Tiger (I have the ABS model).
- the Triumph hard bags are not very secure. Other hardbags may be the way to go, if security is an issue.
