We are seeing Triumph producing some awesome bikes latterly just looking at the hype the Tiger has cause confirms they are on the right track. However I cannot help asking myself is there dealer network letting them down. We find most Triumphs being sold as a piggyback of another make of bikes. The Triumphs seem to then take a back space in the dealership. So will we see more Triumph only dealers being introduced in the next couple of year taking Triumph to a whole new level in the marketplace?

That would really depend on what the dealer wants to do with the line. It is unlikely that Triumph alone can support a larger dealer unless they are wildly popular in a 12 month per year riding climate. There may be exceptions.

A good example is Pure Triumph in Fort Lauderdale. Very large super well run dealer on Route 1 at the beach. They just took on Ducati, I think, and barely got by on just Triumph. You can imagine the rent, insurance, utility payments, workers comp etc. You have to sell a lot of bikes to make money.

20 bikes for Triumph in a month is a lot! Figure $1,000 per bike. $20,000 per month on sales is a drop in the bucket when supporting a big building and staff. + you have to do it every month!

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

I think Triumph and individual dealers could both do more to improve their visibility.

In 2005 before I got my Speedmaster I was completely unaware that Triumph was making bikes again. Now two years later, I see Triumphs out & about pretty commonly. Yet we still get those questions from many people - bikers included - about Triumph.

Here's a tip Triumph: crack open the wallet and show up at the annual motorcycle shows. Your absence is unacceptable for a major brand.
