just installed a complete system from specialty spares on my T100 Bonnie. the system comes with headers that look more like a traditional Bonnie (no kink) and they sell the AI removal kit, the jets, and a freer flowing air cleaner. installation wasn't terrible, and boom, the bike ran great right from jump.
at least it don't leak

I just installed a pair of Speciality Spares slip on mufflers on my TBA.
I have been saving my nickles and dimes and had to have them, they went right on and sound great, unfortualy it is raining in CT. today and all I can do is rev it in the garage.
I had a small stumble with the gutted stockers that has completely disappeared with the SS.

They came already installed on scoot (I bought a used TBA) and I really like them. Dale Martinson was very accomodating when it came time to add billet tips and I have the highest regard for his product and service.

Had a chance to go for a 150 mile ride on Sunday with Brett and Bucky.
The SS mufflers cleared up the low end stumble I had learned to live with and the overall performace was surprising. Especially the response in fifth gear cruising speed.
I always had to drop it down a gear to accellerate on the slab or when I was pulling a hill while in fifth gear. I have noticed since the addition of the SS mufflers I no longer have to do either the bike just responds with a crack of the throttle.
I have no idea how much, but they must have added additional hp and I did receive a lot of looks at lights and while cruising they sound truely awesome.
I can not wait for NH rally and the Dyno day I really do not think the bike could run any better with my current setup.
155's, 45's, freak, TBS needles no shims and SS (long), 18 tooth primary, NKG Irduim plugs (perfert tan) and I run 91 octane fuel.

Now you understand why I gave up on workarounds and got longer 412s, I couldn't give up on the pipes.

I have an 06 speedmaster and I installed the SS long cannons with billet tips. I think they look awesome. Just for kicks, yesterday I removed the baffles. OMG it is loud. Maybe too loud. Anyway I was wondering if I could do any damage with them out. burn valve's or any thing. I will probably put them back in, could I remove the packing that's around the baffle and just put them back in? I would appreciate some input THANKS.

You'll have to check your plug tips (assuming you don't own a dyno and a sniffer) and see if they turn pale brown or white indicating a too lean Air/Fuel mix. Too lean and your air cooled motor runs too hot and, yes, things get burnt. Clean your plugs thoroughly, have a moderate run and take a look. You may also find that without the baffle breaking up the "rebound" pulse (wave) in the pipe that you've lost some bottom end torque. A lightly packed baffle can cure that and maintain that crazy loud pipe that you desire.

Jeff,
I agree with Oldrodie, you will need some degree of back pressure to maintaine low end torque.
That be said while at the NH rally this week end we had eight bikes dyno'ed and a couple of them had straight through TORS and the result of the dyno's showed no loss of torque on the low end.
RobBA05 will be posting all the dyno charts with each bikes setup and you can check yours against theirs.

I put the straight-through TORs on this week, and I can tell you there was no loss of torque on the bottom end. That is a true statement, for whatever that's worth. So what's with the "required" back-pressure?

Blanket statements don't always work since everything is inter-dependant and varies set-up to set-up. Depending on the length of the pipes and the volume of air moving through the system you might require back pressure to help scavange the combustion chamber during the valve overlap period. The pipes might be short enough that the rebound pulse doesn't even develop and the exhaust gases can expand directly into the atmosphere. The pipe might expand ala megaphones to allow the gases ample volume to exit...the variables go on and on. Generally speaking, a small restriction (backpressure) somewhere along the chain breaks the rebound pulse and that helps the motor breathe. That's about it. In your case, you put on straight thru pipes, did you gain any power? And was that gain broadband or limited to one RPM range, say in the higher zone above 3500rpm? Maybe you didn't GAIN any torque (rather than losing torque) and that's worth thinking about.
