Next purchase on my list of accessories is to be a sissybar.I cant make up mind on whether to go for the triumph high or low one.Its more for aesthetics rather than practicality as i rarely carry a passenger.Does anyone have a pic of a sissybar on the 2007 America.Ive been scouring around trying to see what the new higher rear seatpad looks like when coupled with the low sissybar.Any help would be much appreciated.

Aesthetics, I'd recommend the low rest.
Passengers will want the tall.
Hopefully someone has a pix.

I agree, the short sissy bar is, in my opinion, more eye appealing. I just put one on my 07 America and love the look.

But just so you know, in the option catalog it shows the bar with the Triumph Badge (logo) on the back. When mine came in, the Badge was not there. The catalog does not show this item as an option, so discuss this with your dealer prior to ordering. One of the reasons I ordered this bar was because I wanted the Triumph logo on the rear of my bike. My dealer is trying to find out why the badge wasn't on the bar as shown in the photo. He agrees that it should be there as shown. If it was an option, it should have been stated as such.

But other than the "missing Badge" I am extremely pleased with the short sissy bar.

My dealer says they don't come with the sissy bar. It is on the photo but I think Triumph makes you order that seperate.

The badge is extra, maybe $15?

The low sissy bar looks better. The wife never has a problem with it, and it works with the rack to support luggage. Go for it.

I dont think you can order just the frame for the sissy bar.

You should post in the classifieds that you are looking for a tall sissy bar.

The new 07 models have a slightly taller pillion (I replaced mine with the 07) than the previous stock or optional touring pillion. With the higher position, the short backrest is nothing more than a butt stop. If you care at all about your passenger's comfort, go for the tall one. It also works better with the rack carrying backrest bags like T-Bags and others.

The backrest/racks do not come with any emblem on the back and I'm not sure that they ever did. I bought mine with my bike in 05 and ordered the oval emblem to put on it. I agree that it should come that way, but you have about 3 choices of emblems and Triumph gets an extra $10-15.

AH...I've read this after you have made your mind up...

I have the tall one and while I don't carry a pillion, I find I can carry more crap with it. More bar to tie the crap to. Paul has the short one. His son has grown, and now wishes he'd bought the tall one.

I like the look of the tall one. It's not on at the mo, and the 03 looks wierd with a seat and no bar to me...(the 06 has the rack on the back, so no seat and so doesn't look wierd)

Just my thoughts.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Even with the short sissy bar & luggage rack, I've been able to strap a lot of crap to the bike.
Not to worry, it'll be fine.
