mounts under the tank with leads from the back to the battery & lets you plug in accessories. There might even be a connector on the stock wiring harness to plug it in.

What accessories? Are they Triumph accessories with a proprietary connection, or is it a universal socket for aftermarket stuff as well?

There should be a plug in the wiring harness on the backbone of the frame, under the tank. The Accesory plug takes a BMW type plug, use it to charge the battery, run heated clothing, GPS..your choice. It stays hot all the time.

There is a round hole in the black metal plate under tank, behind carbs I think. the socket mounts in that hole and nut holds it in place. There should be a plug that fits right in the back to power it. It is a BMW type plug, so you need an adapter to use cigarette lighter type accessories. You may be able to find more info by searching "powerlet". I bought one thinking it would be great to have, used it once. jeff

Here's where it's mounted: You can get an adapter plug for it like this one that will allow you to charge your cell phone, etc.
