Worst: 1958 Renault Dauphine. My first AND my worst.

Best: my 07 jeep compass (but that my change as it gets older, it's too new to judge it's reliability)
Worst: 84 chevy caviler or my 83 dodge ran van

Another catagory - there are just too many.....
Best - 87 VW jetta- odometer died before I got it at 197k miles and I drove the ****** outta that car for over 2 years. Took it all over the place - NY, KY, TN, AR..... (in the market for another one- trying to make a deal on a 88 cabby)
Worst - mid 80s pontiac sunbird 2.0 ohc P.O.S., hated that car and always had some kind of running problem.
Wouldn't die - 88 Olds cutlass Ciera - 2.5 iron duke - paid $100, put a timing chain and gears in it, and drove it about 4 years.

Best: probably my 83 Honda Civic or my one of my Passats
Worst: 81 AMC Eagle 4x4 Hatch or 76 Mustang II FORD F100 rates up there too, BUT in all fairness, my older brother abused the ****** out of it before I got it and the engine was toast. Too bad, nice looking truck, midnight blue!

Best, so far my 1980 Volvo DL 244. For almost 4 years it did everything I demanded and more with never a problem. Then some idiot ran a stop sign and totalled it.
Worst 1964 MGB. It was a blast to drive but I'm fairly certain I spent at least twice as much time fixing it as driving it. No upgrades, just repairs. I sold it after one year for the same amount I paid for it and started enjoying all the free time.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Best- '91 Geo Metro 5-speed. Fifty miles per gallon driving like a good boy. Forty mpg at 80mph. Simple to work on, 3 cylinder 998cc engine. Worst- '73 Ford Pinto. The famous exploding model. Calling it crap is an insult to all waste products.

Best 1974 Mazda Rotary engine pickup. A blast to drive and had almost 300K when I sold it.
Worst: 1974 Fiat(Fix It Again Tony) what a nightmare. My wife drove(ha!) it when I wasn't towing it to the garage with my Mazda pickup.

Worst car hands down Dodge Colt dont remember the year.
Second worst was a Pontiac Lemans not the REAL Lemans one of the Japanese built half Lemans they came out with in the 80's. Best car AMC Gremlin yeah I know ugly as a mud fence, but no weight in the back. And one huge straight 6 motor. thing would lay a patch of rubber from here to Chicago.
Second best was a Mercury Comet with a 302.

I've only owned two cars... Driven a few more, but they weren't/aren't mine. First car was an 92 Saturn SL2 I got in 99. Thing got 33 MPG doing 85 up the Maine Tpke. Plastic body, paint peeling everywhere, but you couldn't break it. Great fun in the snow too Second car was an 01.5 Jetta GLX 5 speed that I sold to my dad when I got the company car. Loved it! In fact, I'll be seeing it this weekend 3rd gear on a highway onramp was lots of fun! Handled great with the 17's too. I miss the heated seats... Company cars have been a Jeep Liberty and Dodge Charger. Honestly it's a toss up. For the day to day, the Charger is more fun, but that Jeep was great. It could fo anywhere (went over a mountain in Laconia once...) and was good in the snow too. Also was SMALL for an SUV and WAY easier to park than the Charger! I kinda miss it... Might not miss it as much if I had been paying for gas...

Worst was a '72 Chevy L.U.V., drove it for about two months total out of the year that I owned it. The rest of the time it was broken.
Best is more subjective, have had several really good ones. But I have to say my current '06 Tacoma 4X4 wins it. Did love that '65 Mustang though.

Best: 1980 Ford F-150 - 10 years - 287,000 miles, but the rear seal went out - no more Fords for me! Worst: It's a toss up: 1) 1964 Simca woundn't stay running long enough to get fuel (@36,000 kilometers. 2) 1991 Ford Taurus Wagon wouldn't stay running long enough to go trade it (@64,000 miles).

Worst - 1973 VW Bus - Hands down. Expensive to maintain, quick to break, top heavy, bucked like a horse, cold as ice in winter, hot as sow in heat in the summer. Still I kept it until about '84. My 'Loves punishment' years, no doubt.
Best - Because of surviving the bus years, all others were just great.

Best - my first, inherited from a step-father who didn't know any better. 1961 Ford Starliner, black convertible, white top, red interior, 390 ci Police Interceptor engine, and three on the tree.
Worst - 1960-something Austin America, but I loved it just the same.
He was fun while he lasted.

Best: '96 Firebird Formula w/six speed. Close 2nd also our '96 Impala SS. Still have the SS in the foreground (wife's baby). Sold the Formula to fund purchase of the America! Love my America, but miss that 'bird greatly. The SS is fun, but nothing equals hammering that six-speed. Mulling over selling the SS for an LT1 convertible/six speed.
Worst: '79 Chevy Monza Spider that took a dump at 20k. Quality at GM NOT job #1 in those days!

Re-thought my answer. Cars above "most enjoyable". Best car ever, hands down my '03 Honda Accord. Car now has 225,000 miles on it with one trip to the dealer to replace a leaky rear brake caliper (at 20k). Haven't seen the dealer since. Car still runs perfectly and MPG average has been 32 since new. I log a lot of time in this baby. I know, "least imaginative" but for a daily driver I couldn't ask for more. Will be replaced by a diesel Accord as soon as that model is released.

*Best* - my last Jeep, a 2001 Cherokee Sport 5-speed. Loved that thing. But...I got married and she couldn't drive it. It was a drag 'cause it only had 22k miles on it AND was paid for. (my '06 Grand Cherokee drive like a mini-van)
Worst - 1982 Chevy Malibu, 4 door. Goodness forbid, I should need to go up hill.

Best---my 1966 VW Deluxe bus. Tie dyed curtains, whitewalls, hippie beads. Had it back in the late 60s till the early 70s. Never should have let her go.

Best: 3-way tie.
1981 Dodge Omni Miser. Brand new, stripped, only option was rear window defroster- $5100. Bought on chance for $110/month because of used car unexpected costs usually $200 every time too much to take starting marriage and baby. Wound up costing me nothing other than oil changes and tires for 1st 4 years. Great gas mileage too...
1989 VW Fox. Bought new, basic model. Just under 6 grand. Easy & cheap self maintenance. Good, not great gas mileage. Fun to drive. Drove non-stop and back to Orlando, FL from Massachusetts with 170K on odo without worries. First clutch at 205K miles. Parked at 235K waiting for son to get license, unfortunately, took too long and got ruined just sitting. Donated to Kidney Foundation...
1994 Toyota Camry. Last of the Japanese-built. Bought used w/30K miles in '97. Wife drove for a few years, then daughter had in college, Now, it's my daily driver, 60 miles round trip to work. ODO at 192K. Runs and feels like 92K. Great gas mileage too. Just wish it had my '03 Jetta's Monsoon stereo system (wife driving the Jetta)...
Worst car: 1985 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport Wagon. Excellent & awesome car when new. Got old fast at 30K miles. Lots of trouble thereafter...
Car I would love to have again: 1973 Dodge Charger. Bought brand new. $3,750 almost fully loaded. Too young to appreciate keeping it for what it would be worth today...
