SO I got these today. I got em from Motorcycle-Luggage.com. Nice bags overall I just dont know If I like the look on my America. They have handles and removeable shoulder strap for easy carrying. I suppose for the price I cant beat it. Im curious to know what others think?

I think they look fine as long as they aren't going to be on the bike all the time. If your going to be leaving them on all the time, I'd go with something else.
Just my .02.
Thanks for the link tho, I'm looking for something just like that. Easy to just throw on for those rare occasions when I need some storage space.
Question: do they need supports? or do they just hang free?

I have the OEM supports from my Triumph bags. I would suggest support. They have a nice liner that allows them to keep the shape but I think without the supports theyd be too flappy.

I think if you are gearing up for a trip, perfect. They have that "travel gear" kinda look, ya know? EZ brackets would be perfect...

Yeah...Im surprised at how much room they have. I think Im going to keep them. Ill be able to stuff my laptop in there easily and tools on the other side. Next step...EZ brackets then maybe the Cl-800 Rear Tote bag and I should be good to go for whatever type of riding I need. I still want hard bags though!

It seems to me that what you're really asking is: "Do these bags make my bike look fat?"
You'll have to find a REALLY good friend to give you an honest answer.

I've been looking for that same style of bags for my bike. I bought some "willie and max" saddlebags which are fine for around town. But I can barely pack a change of clothes in them. Your bags look way more roomier. Thanks for the info.

Good size bags, at least you can pack some serious gear in them and are probobly a lot more servicable than those small leather "fashionable" ones, they look good on an America too. Designed for serious long distance hauling Hoffo

Wish I would have seen those before I spent too much $$$ on fake leather ones where water does seep in. I have a Nelson-Rigg 800 or some series big luggage bag.. It's coated inside and I can honestly say that it's absolutely waterproof. Now If I could find a waterproof sheepskin to sit on, that would be great! <G> mary

OK...much better with the Easy Brackets! BTW...if anyone has ever debated the Easy Brackets...DO IT! Here are the pics: This first one shows how I mounted them higher so when I add a tail bag itll sit as even as possible across the back. This also shows how HUGE these things are! This one is just a top view. The bags are fairly rigid for soft bags but I still braced them inside with some 1/4" plexi. And finally a rear view. Just so you can see how they are nicely spaced from the bike.

How did you attach the Plexi? Did you just bolt them onto the Easy Bracket, and how do you think they will handle the wear and tear of being full? Any chance they might rip or tear (similar to the Saddlemen ones cracking)? They look good tho.

What do you mean they look British... Most of the Brits have leather bags like most of you Yanks!
I do have some soft bags - very similar, but not the same, plain. I just haven't figured out how I'm gonna put them on yet. Oh and they were £20 on ebay. Seriously cheap. And only cos they were so cheap and so big!

I use the back of the bag as a template. I wanted the support to follow the contour of the inside of the bag for maximum support, made my marks so the bag has support from top of bag to bottom of EZ bracket. It is actually about half the height of the bag and I was surprised at how well it fit. The Plexi is inside the bag (slipped into the back pocket with a bit of work) and basically sandwiches the bag between the EZ bracket and plexi. I think it should hold up well. I loaded it to see how it would sag and it did pretty darn well. You got me curious so I just weighed my tool bag and it’s a touch over 25 lbs and no noticeable sag. As for ripping…I slightly rounded the edges in hopes of preventing that. The bags are attached with four 5/16" bolts and 1†diameter washers. Honestly…I expect to have to remake the supports after some time. Plexi is good but I expect it to crack with time. I think aluminum might be better down the road.

I'm sure he meant it in the nicest way possible Gina. After all, a lot of us were attracted to the new Triumph line because of the British look.
I tried 8202
