Instead of hijacking this thread... Quote:
I would gladly tour the country collecting TRIUMPH dealer T's, were they to ever have any. ... How many other Triumph dealers have their own t-shirts? I
That is one of my pet peeves, dealers without their own shirts.
I have shirts from Lynwood Cycle Barn (Seattle, WA), The Motorcycle Shop (Anchorage, AK), Big Twin Cycles (Boise, ID) and Indianapolis Triumph. I don't have one from my dealer, they do't have any.

Jack Trebour (Ledgewood, NJ), Great Bay (NH) & Hermy's (Port Clinton?, PA) have dealer shirts. That being said, I am forbidden by law to buy any more t-shirts. I have beeelions of them.

Especially when one considers how little the shirts and hats cost to make

One might believe that if a walk-in would be interested enough via getting onto a flyer / specials snail mail or email list, they would be a good candidate for a $4 hat or $3 shirt. It makes a good impression on a potential client, and builds brand as the recipient displays it.

Harley dealers sell the crap out of them, so you would think Triumph dealers could too...
Thanks, Soren, for resurrecting this thread again and saving us from "hijacking" the other shirt thread...my bad.
Maybe because ALL Harleys are cruisers, ALL Harley riders are are potential buyers of thiese types of t-shirts - you know, the black motorcycle tees we all know what we are referring to.
Triumph dealers may not be able to move so many to owners of the Triumph sport bikes, or even to the Standard Bonneville crowd. But WE would eat them up, right?

If I had the time and money to travel more, I would map out dealers with shirts and just go.

One of the local dealers here has started screen printing their own logo on the official Triumph merchandise. Personally, I think that's a BS thing to do and won't buy any of the merchandise from their dealer if it has their logo added to it. I'll happily drive across town to the other dealer and buy the same shirt there sans dealer logo.
Now, if it's a design they created for promoting their dealership, that's one thing. But taking the merchandise they get from Triumph and adding their logo to it is kind of cheesy.
Then again, I refuse to have a dealer sticker on my vehicles, so maybe I'm in the minority in feeling this way.

I got my first BA from Chris Gorel at Martin Moto in Pottstown, PA. I asked if he would toss in a dealer t or helmet and he said take one of each (and didn't point me to a 'cheap' rack for either). Chris treated me very well.
Stopped in at RPM Cycle in Dallas some years ago and got long sleeved black and short sleeved white t's, along with a Retro Paddock jacket. Very simply done, classy t's. I spoke with Keith Martin for quite a while not knowing he was a nationally recognized Triumph wrench from the Meriden days. Great guy.
It's my understanding Mike Tingley's in Missoula, MT is also a very good Triumph dealer. I only know him from his taking the time to talk bikes with me while I was going through the parachute rigger course last year and his explaining that he doesn't do dealer branded items any more... I got a ballcap and t anyway because he's a nice guy.
Performance Cycle in Oklahoma City moved to a new, larger, location just a couple of years ago from a very small shop that had just recently (back then) picked up Triumph. I have a Performance Cycle t from the old shop that doesn't say anything about Triumph. I don't think they had anything branded at the time. Got a coffee mug and a couple of ball caps for the kids last fall when I had a chance to stop there. They never seem to have many dealer t's anymore when I stop in.
Back when Joe Harrison Honda in San Antonio was the local Triumph dealer as well (and Excelsior-Henderson), they didn't seem to know anything about the marque and didn't seem to care. No t shirts there.
My local dealer is Clinton Cycle in Maryland. Don't know if they do dealer t's or not.

I guess not many owners hit as many dealers as you!
"Parachut rigging" ??? - you are a true adventurist!
I've been to Martin in PA and visit with them at Ephrata, they seem like good folks.

I agree 100% with everything you said. Even though I have a great relationship with my dealer, I wont have anything with te dealers name on my bike. I refuse to buy a car from a dealer has put their emblem or sticker on the car.
