I have a surge/lull at the "low end" throttle position, which is enough to unballance the bike while making turns. This can be reproduced in all gears, so appears to be a throttle position problem. The bike accels/decels smooth above or below, but makes a jump when crossing the one position. This is a new (800 miles) stock bike, and done this since day one.
Can this be caused by the throttle position sensor? I can't find any info on what this does or how it does it...
All help would be appreciated - thanks - Dale

Don't think it would be the TPS more likely just lean. Might try adjusting the air/fuel mixture and synchronizing the carbs.. could take care of most of what you're feeling.

Ditto on what Chy said. Most likely mixture screws or too small pilots or sync. or a combo of the 3.

Thanks for the suggestions. The culprit turned out to be a loose nut on the throttle cable. When it vibrated a little and the cable leaned forward, the corner of the nut would hang up on a bracket. I can't believe I missed this, but I'm glad it wasn't the nut above the seat
