I have a few questions for those who have already changed their bars out. First, I would like to go ahead and change to chrome handlebar contols while I am switching to the Carlini bars. Are there any recommendations that work best with the Triumph switches and brakes?? Also, I saw that someone suggested buying a converter for the 1/2" handlebar mounts to go onto the Triumph 10mm handlebar connection. Has anyone done this already to save me a headache? Thanks again to the pioneers that allow us to follow... Alan

I can't comment on the controls because I don't know. The Carlini's that came on my TBA were bolted through the tree with 1/2' bolts any converter would have to be set up were the 1/2" shaft would only be long enough to fit inside the tee with the 10mm portion long enough to pass completely through the tree. My came with Carlini Slickbacks that had too much pullback and maede the riding position really cramped so I changed back to stock bars. Just my 2 cents worth...

I mounted a couple sets of bars now (2) and used adapters. I made mine but you can buy them and I like the results.

I had the adaptors made up, so I had the option to change back to standard bars if I wanted

That sounds like the right route to take. Did you use the original controls or install chrome housings? Looked at the Ness Petite controls but they say they do not accept a high/low beam switch like our original left control has. Still deliberating that modification.
Thanks

Alan - replied back to your PM..I went with chrome housings and basically my controls are wired like a Harley..also depending on your height the Carlini has different pullback options so be careful on which bar you choose.

I've used the original switches as the bars I got had been powder coated black.
I did look at the Ness controls, but I couldn't figure out how to get everything to work (although I did think about moving the starter switch to reduce the buttons needed.
I've also seen some controls (can't remember where at present)that were buttons drilled into the bars. If I find the link, I'll post it here
Cheers
Steve

Getting them to work is the trick! Seems like the Ness controls have 4 swiches (2 per side) and appear to be simple push buttons. Our bikes have the on/off switch and starter button on the right side. The left side has the horn button, turnsignal switch and high/low beam switch. I am no electrical wizard like Sandman either, so looks like I am stuck with the original black controls unless I discover something soon. Maybe something for the V-series bikes would fit ours. Thanks, Alan

there are Harley controls out there that have plenty of switches. I don't know modern Hardley that well but I know there are Evo Dyna Glide switch housings that would do the trick.

Funny you mention that...I am going to look at my wiring diagram at home for the turn signal wiring but these look like thay would work well if I can send a right turn signal wire to the right control and a left turn signal wire to the left control. http://www.dragspecialties.com/fatbook/15/266/3873915

you can but you will have to split a common wire if I remember correctly from when I put my wires inside my bars.

Let me know how you get on. I'm still thinking about doing that when I run the wires in the bars
