I'm getting a Bonneville Black and wanted to know if there was anyone that knew of a place to find black pipes. I've seen them on some new Victories but not having any luck searching for them on the Bonneville. Thanx.

High temp paint from home your local auto parts store should do the trick. I did a set and they came out great.

Do you mean like these?  Black ceramic coated Specialty Spares Long Cannons with billet tips.

Not any mainstream stuff. However, several folks have had their pipes ceramic coated. The most recent I've seen is this one http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...ge=1#Post227132
2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...

I did high heat powdercoat, it doesn't work. Go with ceramic coat. I currently have high heat paint over the powdercoat.

thanx for the help. i talked to Specialty Spares, still looking local but they'll probably get my order. especially after seeing oldroadies pipes.

Ceramic coat is the way to go. Black oxide will work, but not as well. Powder coat is only a little better than high temp paint.

BBQ black works pretty well. It's black paint made for BBQ grills. I had a friend who used it on his Harleys and it works.

a friend of mine had a set of pipes ceramic coated. They started to peel.
He then used black stove paint. Not a problem since. He has a victory.
I wish I had the gonads to take a spray can to my new bike's header pipes because I love the look. Maybe next year.

I've been looking into the same. I'm currently in the process of blacking out my engine and sprocket covers. Just had the chrome stripped and have sent it out for powdercoating.
For the pipes I have been considering having them done with black nickel. Not sure if anyone has tried it. Its a shiny black instead of a flat. My local motorcycle place seems to think it will look good.
