Has anyone removed their crossover exhaust pipe?....seems like this would be the best step toward "vintage" sound. It would cut the exhaust pulses in half and lower the pitch by an octave.....I doubt that there would be a measurable difference in horsepower, as long as some baffle reduction was done at the same time.

There was at least one member who removed the crossover pipe. He lived over in Virginia and I think his real or screen name was Buddy. However since we went with the new board I haven’t seen or heard anything from him…

Crossover helps balance scavaging of the exhaust, therefore aiding in the balance of performance between both cylinders, not a good idea to eliminate it. Many things are hung on our bikes for a good reason, when it comes to mechanical applications, more could be done in the asthetic dept. however.

oh yeah the good old days. a set of TT pipes and rip on down the road. Ive been tempted to work on a set of headers
I agree it should help with the vintage sound. Every action has a reaction or something like that.
