Can someone educate the new guy here? What is the AI and what benefit is it to have it removed/disabled, etc.? I don't mean to sound like a novice, but I AM. http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/images/icons/confused.gif

the AI..is a Air Injection system....it does just what it says...running off a vacume line on one of your carbs...it injects fresh air into the exhaust manifold just as the cylinder is expelling the spent gases...this adds mor fresh air to the exhaust gases escaping the pipes and makes it "less polutant" laden....(just a bogus EPA fooling device your still putting just as much junk into the air...it just seems like less because of the added fresh air)

The benifit is that because sometimes(like almost always) the influx of fresh air into the super heated exhaust gasses will re ignite in the pipes, they tend to blue faster and discolor faster, removing this stops this from adding more blue to your shiney chrome...it does NOTHING to the performance of your bike WITH or WITHOUT it NOTHING...that bears repeating it does NOTHING for the performance..

oh yeah and you' might not get that POP POP POP sound any more as the gasses are no longer burning(exploding)in the pipes
