It's 1am here and i'm sure that yet again many thousands of Kiwi's all over the country are glued to their armchairs waiting for race 4 to start... Hopefully we can get another 1 up on Alingi...

It's now tied 2-2 for the first time in a final since the late 1800s. It's definitely a match race of skill. Both boats are very even each with slight advantages in different conditions. Kiwis are pretty much sailing both boats. The skipper of the Swiss boat originally won the cup for New Zealand, AND won it away from them (sailing for the Swiss) in the last cup.

So, New Zealanders will win it - just not sure in what country the cup will reside.

No big deal. It's not like we're in it anyway. I'm watching it now.

It was a helluva good race today. I wached the first 2 legs then I had to ge to work. I'm rooting for the swiss, even though they are defending the title they are the underdogs...
A buddy of mine was the wx guesser for BMW. Not sure what happened to them in the semi's. After they lost I started rooting for Italy. sorry guys it seems like you Kiwi's always get the cup.

Nowadays the cup goes to who has the most money to have the best boat and best crew available. The cup stays in the country that put up the money. It does appear New Zealand has the best sailors as they are primarily crewing both boats in the finals. I kinda am for the Swiss because the winner gets to change the rules. The Swiss want the race every 2 years, the Kiwis want it every 4 years. I'd like to see technology improvements continue to move into the boats that are raced, and I don't want to wait 4 years between races.

Amist all the controversy, the Tour de France starts next week. I like the fact it is every year - just wish they'd get this dopping thing out of the picture.

I think America won it off the Brits about 150 years ago and there it stayed for a long long time... Down here they call it sport's "oldest and greatest prize"
Heard on the news thismorn that there's a downturn it the economy with so many people asleep, or half asleep at their jobs...

yeah in 1851 the schooner America beat the british schooner and they rennamed the race after her. I remeber hearing a quote "if they (america) are right, we are all wrong" It was called the hundred guinnea cup prior to that race.

5 lead changes, first ever in-course penalty, equipment failure, and closest race finish in Cup history. Incredibly exciting for a sailboat race!

I'm gutted... But what an exciting, hair pulling last couple of minutes, 1 measley sec...
Why do Kiwi's have to be on most of the other boats...

At least my girlfriend is pleased I'll be coming to bed now instead of being glued to the box...
