When you bought the bike the keys should have had a pair of numbered tags with them. If you actually kept those tags just order new keys with the numbers.
If not, you're up for a new lock + keys. You could try a wrecker/breaker/scrapper/whatever you call them where you are for a 2nd hand one.

Not sure on our ignitions but on most locks a good locksmith can make you keys if he has the lock (switch). I don't see why our ignitions would be any different aside from the need of a blank. I looked a few places and haven't found a good generic blank yet. Anyone know what blanks work for us? I know we can get 1 from Triumph but any other options that anyone has discovered? I'm still looking so if I find one I'll post it. I need a key for Wendy , she lost 1. I am going to make a custom key. The part you pinch with your fingers is going to be a pewter rose and gonna make a skull for me.

I found this in the tech vault, so I assume it is good info. Occasionally there is a guy on Ebay who sells blanks - just checked and not any there at the moment.

Like Shaun said (from the Tech Vault): Keys: Ignition: Yamaha - ILCO YH47 (X119), Steering lock: Volvo - SILCA NE10".....
I had an extra key made from a Yamaha blank, but I thought it was for the fork lock. Anyways, a good locksmith should be able to help you. For the ignition, you could probably just take the switch to them and drop it off. May cost $25??

I found out the other day (after spending a LOT of money on a geniune triumph blank) than the blank from a kawasaki vulcan fits too.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions I went to see about ordering a new key as per Sandman still way too much and too long. As a result I now have the ignition assembly all over the garage floor, In a past life I was an engineer and have to say that the whole lock system is very basic (but very reliable) and have decided that after I put it all back together with certain bits missing so I can use a different type of key(now where did the little sping go?) I will add a little secret cut out switch. Thanks heaps for your help Regards skypilot (dont know how to change stranger yet but when bike up and running will have a look)
