Just put on Soundgarden - Superunknown. Let Me Drown rocks! I don't listen to music while riding, but I can see where that song would be great through the curves.

I'm more of a Thin Lizzy guy while riding the bike, also AC/DC, Guns N Roses, and for those long rides Pink Floyd, but I also use the latter to go to sleep with at night when on a rally..

I'm partial to "Rusty Cage" myself. I don't have tunes on the bike either, but I've run that through my head while riding. A good speed song.

I don't have any music on the bike, but if I did, I think I'd go with some Machine Head or some Killswitch Engage.
If I wanted to go a little softer, Id go with some Tool.

I admit to barely recognizing a band name on the top 20 for years now. Sad.... I do remember watching the Beatles on "Ed Sullivan" a few years ago. Also remember my Dad's reaction (AUP violation ). In retrospect, it's funny how their so-called appearance caused such an uproar.
OK, I do chaperon kids on lengthy roadtrips a few times a year, so I get periodic updates

My 10 year old son's favorite song is Audioslave "I am the Highway". I'm trying to give him a proper classic rock education. My oldest son (27), after years of "Wu Tang Clan" has discovered Grand Funk Railroad(I'm so proud). My Dad told me Grandpa used to tell him not to listen to that Charlie Parker 'crap'. You never know, do you?

I go through phases. Country (old and new), rock, heavy rock, classical, punk, even a little bluegrass. This week I'm hooked on Hendrix. Being a guitar player/addict, I get hook on playing styles. Right now I'm into the thick harmonics of Jimmy's style. Learned "Mary", "Hey Joe", and" Little Wing" this week. Last week it was Los Lonely Boys, two weeks before that is was Ted Nugent...

Nine Inch Nails mixed with Johnny Cash sprinkled with Buddy Holly and Gene Vincent on the Mp3 player. I am amazed the bike does not take off. Sometimes the moment is perfect weather and road conditions and the bike is just buzzing and a tune comes on and the moment is sublime. Some days it just doesnt get any better.

If you put all those short fast punk songs on it you could probably fit 350.

Rusty Cage kicks, but I still like Let Me Drown more. I'm a longtime ACDC fan, first one to have their album in my college dorm back in 1976, but I'm warped on them now ever since I saw this video.

I dissagree... Not a bad band, but a lot of their songs sound the same... To me anyway
Lately in my MP3 player I've got The Cat Empire, some Joss Stone, and a mix I have that really gets me going. Oh and some Zep

Just get some with the foam inserts. Blocks the wind noise enough so you don't have to crank it, and are WAY cheaper. Plus you can still hear the motor/traffic.

Think Metallica does a pretty good job also...
Been listening to Dreamtheater a lot recently, they're coming on to be something special... think last 3 albums are pretty amazing IMO. More Progressive Rock than Rock/ Metal though...'Behold the power of Rock!'

I must say, for riding, you just can't compete with a bit of skynyrd, a truly tragic loss, I know some of the band still tour but you can't compare them with the orignal line up, but relaxing at home or working in the workshop I listen to planet rock on the net or DAB, and if you want a completly absorbing listening experience then it has to be Floyd.

Saw Lynyrd Skynrd last night- incredible performance, the video tribute to Ronnie Van Zant always touches me. 30 years, and those guys still rock and we didn't sit down the whole show. Rode as a passenger on a big fat HD couch, long way home with the Stones blasting .

Paula, my buddy is taking his dad to see Skynnyrd tonight in Hartford. I saw them with ZZ Top in Wustah back in 99. Awesome show!! Even from the Sir Edmond Hillary seats at the Centrum.

I saw the Rossington Collins Band on their first tour. For the encore they played "Free Bird" without vocals. Actually, a stadium full of us provided the vocals, most in tears.

I'd recommend Robben Ford & the Blue Line, but I'm afraid that during a nice ride it would take your concentration away...

Sunday sunshine, coastal road, ocean shimmering, Beck's "Loser" on a friend's iPod. Who needs drugs to experience bliss. (I'd never ridden listening with an iPod before. I was a good girl and gave it back, and will now start riding with mine.)
