Hello guys, my first post and not a happy one.

Last month my wife (ex)paid a visit to my garage to spend some time introducing my Speedy to a 2 pound engineering hammer. After a minute or so I wondered what the banging was about and investigated the direction the sound was coming from.To my horror Speedy was lying on the floor bleeding, beat up badly with my ex out of breath standing over. I won't go into the details from then on but suffice to say the boys in blue did a good job!

For the last couple of weeks I have been waiting on parts arriving from the UK to fix her up. Got the call to say they are here now I gotta find the money to pay for them, expensive parts ...totalled $2500.00 Oz.

So ... will be getting stuck into repairs as soon as I get paid.

Cheers team !

Show your Speedy some love, man, and get her back up on her wheels.

Did they pistol whip her? Hopefully the judge will make her pay restitution, and hope you get back on the road soon.

Your ex wasn't very bright huh? She should have smacked everything once. Each fork shroud, each pumpkin, all the spokes, the tank console, the rotors, you know the whole shebang. Shebang get it?! Dang man. Glad she was too tired to wield the hammer at you! You guys like em hot and spicy huh?

Hope you get your real ride back on the road real soon.

Yeah right...if she was real smart, she would have used a power drill on it instead of a hammer. Unless there's any leaks in the gas tank, it's rideable as it is , but not with holes in the engine where there's not supposed to be any...

Hey guys, do you think Binnsy had the only one of these out there? Don't give the rest of them any ideas.

Being that I tend to be a "Half full" type....a two pound hammer could have destroyed the bike permenatly had she just aimed for the engine cases, Jugs, instead of the sheet metal...so count your blessings...and check with your insurance CO...or HERS...someone ELSE should pay for this NOT YOU!!

You've got to be seriously disturbed to do that to such a beautiful peice of machinery. If any of my ex boyfriends had done that to my bike, I probably wouldn't be here writing this.

Bad deal, man.
Hope you get some help from somewhere on it.

It happens.
One guy I know had a wife who got in his Healy roadster and kicked the dash out with her high heels.
Another had one of those plywood Cris-Crafts from the '60s docked & a pinch bar went through the hull.

Sadly Talishar, there are odd ducks in the world who look at beautiful machines like our bikes and see only fancy toasters! I was in Fulda Germany once, and there were three BEAUTIFUL Ferrari convertibles parked in front of a beergarden, all gorgeous. Well, this British guy was walking by with his Mum, and he slowed to drool over them and admire their curves, just like I and the guys I was with did. Well, she says "'arry up now, their just stupid bleedin' cars!!!", to which he says "No Mum, their not just cars, their Ferraris!!!!" Well, she could have cared less if they were 30 year old rusted out Ford Escorts, to her, they were as meaningless as a piece of dirt in the street, and she found no beauty in them whatsoever! This was a woman who could wield a Hammer of Smiting... That someone was married to her and had children with her, well...

Well Binnsy, I guess it's too bad you didn't recognize what a "high-maintenance" broad she was BEFORE you married her then, huh?!

Where DO some of you guys find these "ladies", anyway?!

(sorry...I couldn't resist that one)

Here's to a speedy fix to your Speedy, and to the hope that once that once beautiful bike of yours is once again beautiful(sure a lot o' "onces" there, huh?!), and you find yourself riding it around, that you'll...STEER CLEAR OF CRAZY BROADS LIKE THAT FROM NOW ON!!!

(oh...BTW...Welcome to the site, Dude!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I'll show it to my wife and tell her how lucky I am being married to her. She would never do that to my/our bike. We were just talking about the Speedmaster the other day when I was trying to figure out when I bought it since it's been almost 4 years. She even looked up the papers in the safe to get the exact date.

I asked her; "So are you glad I bought it?". She said it was the best thing we've ever bought. We've had so many good times on the bike going places and meeting people, it's like the bike is part of the family.
