His wife watched, holding their fourth baby, just 8 weeks old, while he handed over his first, 5 years old. I gave her $4,600, cash, and she smiled. I thought he might cry.

No slave trade, no illicit adoption. I just got his 2002 black Bonneville America with 762 miles on it. He kept trying to tell me all the problems, as if dirty chrome was somehow fatal, in the forlorn hope that I would back out of the deal. I didn't.

I am a happy man.

He was fun while he lasted.

That's one sweet deal!

Here's one.

I'll post more when my son edits out the ones where I look like a dork. That's pretty much all of them.

Here's how little he knew about it. He must have searched for 20 minutes for the Owner's Manual. He couldn't find it and apologized and gave me a gallon of real synthetic oil instead.

The manual was in the slot under the pillion .

Congrats on what I consider a great deal. Too bad it wasn't the perfect Cardinal Red, but that would have cost more than a new one. I turned down $6800 a month ago(maybe word is getting out and our resale is catching the declining HD resale value). Blessings on your new ride, what a bike!!!
Put your registration and proof of insurance under the pillion. You won't need an owner's manual.

He gave me the bags. They are square, heavy duty nylon with the Triumph logo. Original equipment?

It is totally stock, and I have to decide what simple mods, like AI and jetting, I may do.

Incredible deal! Nice! 762 miles, and the owners manual still under the seat, it's still a BABY!
And it's BLACK!

Right after this post, I'm switching allegiance and committing to black. So, for the last time, it's black beacuse I couldn't find red.

BLACK IS BEST. And, no, I do not have a big butt.

Not to hijack this thread Tim, but I live in Rustburg and come to Halifax (Staunton River State Park, VIR, South Boston Speedway, ect.) fairly often. Maybe we can get together and ride sometime. There aren't many Triumphs around home. Send me a PM.

Congratulations. I hope you feel at least a little empathy for the poor soul.......while grinning down the road. 762 miles in five years? I have always been partial to the 02's .

I talked to a guy last Saturday who bought (stole) a Triumph Trophy with 3,300 miles for $3,000 if I have the numbers right. I think there were children somehow involved in that tale also.
