I have a Garmin StreetPilot c330 and was looking at the RAM mounts for it. Does anyone use one? Is there an accessory to hook a cigarette lighter type outlet to your bike to plug it in, or do you just run it off batteries?

Take a look here as well. I've got a Tomtom on a ram mount and it works a treat. I'm sure Triumph list a 12v socket in their accessory catalogue but any socket from an auto parts store could be made to fit with a bit of adaption. http://www.ram-mount.com/

That's what I was looking at. I'm glad to find someone that uses/likes it. My concern is that it would bounce out, and I don't see any spot for a tether on my GPS

Touratech makes really solid mounts that are RAM compatible. A picture of the Touratech and RAM mount with a raincover. I have a Touratech for a Streetpilot III RAM mounted, it's not going anywhere. They're popular with the Beemer GS crowd if that's any indicator.

I'm using the Ram mount with a Mio 310x and the Triumph accessory 12v outlet. The only hassle is stretching the wire to the outlet at the back of the tank, so I made up an extension for from the 12v power outlet ran it under the tank to the front of the tank so I can plug the GPS in there. Works great now.

I have a garmin c330...I used an extra windshield mount $50 at circuit city and then used one of these mounted a carrage bolt to the std c330 mount arm (remove the suction cup part leaving just the arm and ball mounted clip) slid the carrage bolt into the slot shown and a quick tighten and it stays...uses the standard lighter plug the unit comes with I have no pics of the mount but it made it all the way to GA nad back...I also wrap a elastic around the unit (splitting the screen in two side by side screen for added secruity) I just don't trust that little "tooth" on the back to hold the unit under the vibs a bike subjects it to

If you have an accesory plug mounted you can get a couple of "v' shaped spade connectors and put them between the accesory plug and the connector that supplies the power to the plug, just attach the leads from the gps to the other side of the 'v' and since it is a hot all the time connector you don't have to reboot the gps every time you stop for gas, or what ever

I'd love more information on this. See, I normally just start the bike and go. I don't know crap about connectors and such. I just don't know what you're talking about.
